I scrolled through Instagram on my phones as I walked onto the elevator. My shift wasn't starting quite yet but, it was better if I was in the loft before Barry. I sipped my tea I had gotten at CC jitters earlier as I waited for the doors to close. Just as the metal doors started to slide closed a man started running frantically towards me. "Hold the doors!" He called out trying to balance a bunch of papers and books. I stuck my foot out to stop the door from closing on the man. He slipped inside and I moved away from the door. S.T.A.R labs appeared in my Instagram feed, I recalled what happened last night in this elevator. I had met my hero and I was offered a job. The picture showed a before and after of the particle accelerator explosion. It made me wonder how anyone was even allowed to work there anymore.

"So sorry about that whole dramatic thing in the lobby, I just think I'm late and I'm not at all organized." The man sighed hanging his head as I looked up. He had short black hair and brown eyes, he wore black glasses that suited him perfectly. He looked extremely stressed however. "It's okay, I'm sure no one thought you were crazy. Maybe a little weird but..." I said as we organized his handful of things. He looked up at me raising a brow as he did. "Is that you trying to make me feel better? Cause it's not working." He asked as I faked hurt. I put my phone in my back pocket and proceeded to put my hand over my heart.

"Ouch aren't we a little bitter, try some sugar in your coffee once and a while." I said before sipping my tea again. He sighed again as he continued to reorganize his papers. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that I'm just stressed." He said pulling a paper from the pile, only for the whole stack in his hands to collapse onto the ground. I cringed at the loud noise of binders and book hitting the elevator floor like dead weight. "Here let me help." I said kneeling down to help pick up the mess of papers and binders. I collected most of the papers into a neat pile. Most of them had drawings of people. "These are really good." I said looking up at him as he collected the binders and books. "I would hope so, it is my job after all." He gave a faint laugh.

"Your the sketch artist." I said standing back up. He nodded. "Yeah that's me." He said taking the papers from me. I smiled lightly. "That's really cool, I can't draw for the life of me. Give me some DNA samples and I'll tell the age of a person though." I said trying to make conversation.

"Let my guess your the new Forensic Scientist they hired to help in the loft." He said as I nodded. He smiled and put out his hand while balancing the stack of things in the other. "Darren Ren." He said as I took his hand and shook it. "Lilian Gray." I said as he took his hand back. He looked me in the eyes. "Such a pretty name for such a pretty girl." He said as the elevators opened. We both stepped out and moved out of the way of a bunch of people. "Thank you." I said sipping my tea again. He nodded to me. "Well I better get going, till next time Lilian." He said before walking away. I raised a brow at his odd farewell but, shook it off and headed to the loft. When I reached the loft I happily ran to my desk chair. I slid into the seat causing it to roll slightly. I placed my tea down and took my phone out of my back pocket. When my shift started I had to go over the forensic notes on the Simon Stagg case before we put it in storage. Seeing that I had a few minutes before my shift actually started I decided to check my ever full mail. Opening up my emails on my phone I noticed a few new things. 10% of at CC jitters, 15% off at hot topic and a random website link.

I clinked on the link even with my moms nagging voice in my head. Don't clink links to websites you don't know Lily. Don't do this lily, blah blah blah. The page opened into a sort of blog. The red streak was the main topic here, just like every other media outlet. People are just seeing things, people don't posses magical powers. I'm the only one and mine aren't magical if anything it's a curse. I continued to scroll through to see what people had to say. Some said it was just light reflection, others said it's just car lights in a blurry photo. They were all reasonable answers to be quite honest. I heard talking outside the loft and I froze. It sounded like Barry and Joe. I checked the time to see my shift had started, which it had. I quickly plugged in my headphones so I wouldn't have to make conversation. No music was playing but, I just didn't want to be any more social this morning.
