"She knew what?" Kenny asked, wiping his face. "She knew she was going to die, just like Rose," I said. "Who's Rose?" he asked. "Oh, no one," I said.
Now I understood. My mother and Rose's spirits were intertwined with each other's. They both died for a purpose. Mom knew I was going to be the Savior, so she left me so I could learn be independent, and figure out a way to defeat the Dark Force myself. Same thing with Rose. I've always had trouble with doing things independently.
"How did Mom know she was going to-" he looked at me like he didn't want to say it. "I honestly can't answer that question, but I know she knew.. I can feel it." I said. Kenny looked at me like I had just been hit by a bus. "So you mean that, she left for you?" he asked. "Did she even love me enough to do that?" "I dunno," I sighed. "But I do know she loved you. Very, very, much." Kenny smiled. His eyes got superwide. "She did?" Kenny asked. I nodded. "Well she never really said it," he looked down.
Mom died when Kenny was two, so I doubt he ever remembers her. She never told him I love you because she knew he wasn't going to remember, and he was too little to say it back. All he could say was, "Wi ove u!" It was so cute!!! But now Kenny's ten, and I don't think he can ever be as cute as he was...
"Kenny, can you please get me out of this death trap I call a room?" I asked. "Sure thing, sis." he said. Kenny kissed me on the cheek. "Thanks, Cass," I smiled back at him. "You're welcome, baby bro,"
Kenny snuck me out of my room. He looked at me with superwide eyes. "Go!" he said, pointing at the door. I nodded, and hugged him. "I love you," I said, a tiny tear spilling out my eye. He wrapped his arms around me. "I love you too, Cass." He stopped holding on to me. "Hurry!" he pointed at the door. "I'll go upstairs and lock your room door so Ingrid won't get suspicious." I smiled. He called her Ingrid! I nodded again and ran out that door, into the woods, headed BACK to Elmore.
