We made it to Pierce The Veil's set just on time. The band were side stage waiting for their signal to head out on stage. One of the roadies on the other side of the stage made a go sign furiously pointing at the drum set. A tall, lanky man ran out on stage, bowed, and then sat behind the set.
"That's Mike." said Liz. Mike had what seemed like hundreds of tattoos scattered across his arms and neck. From the sides of his tank top, I could faintly see the colors of more body art. In an attempt to get the crowd pumped for the start of their show, as if they could possibly get a smidge more hyped, Mike did a neat little solo.
Following that, he pointed a drumstick side stage, and out ran two more men. One held a black and white bass, while the other held a black guitar with what seemed to be green slime oozing from it.
"Bass is Jaime, guitar is Tony." said Liz again. Jaime and Tony did some sick riffs together and the crowd started going wild. I could only assume it was because one, that was some dope shredding. Two, only one member was left.
"Now, that's Vic." The shortest member of all, Vic, ran out with his own custom guitar and grabbed the microphone, a giant smile spread wide across his face. His eyes scanned the crowd, trying their best to catch the excitement in the eyes of as many of his fans as he could.
"How're you guys doing tonight?!" he screamed. The crowd, not able to contain their adrenaline screamed a chorus of "ahh" at them. The band started playing the intro to a song that the crowd recognized immediately.
"This song is called, Besitos!" said Vic into the mic.
- [ After The Show ] -
The four sweaty men walked to the front of the stage, Mike throwing a few pairs of drumsticks, Jaime and Tony throwing some picks, and Vic blowing kisses to the crowd. It was beautiful, this crowd has such a different vibe compared to the others I've seen today. These people felt these songs in such a way that it brought them to tears. Not only tears for the music, or the band, but tears of understanding. These people could relate to the actual words.
"You've been beautiful, Cincinnati!" yelled Vic. With that, the four sweaty men walked over to us.
"You guys killed it!" said Liz hugging them each. Tony the last because "the Turtle Buddy is best for last".
"Hey, Cuz. You gonna introduce us all, or what?" said Mike. Cuz? They're cousins?
"Oh, yeah. Guys, this is Silver, she's hanging out today." said Liz. They each gave me a hug and told me their names, even though I already knew them thanks to Liz. We all hung out a bit while the guys put away their head-pieces and cooled off. Everything seemed fine, until Liz jumped off the side of the stage and ran like hell, screaming profanities as she went.
"There she goes." Jaime.
"That's Liz for ya." Mike.
Not knowing what to do, I took off after her. Andy, feeling obligated to watch over me, ran after me. I almost lost Liz in the crowd of music lovers, desperate to get to the proper stage at the right time. However, I pushed myself until I saw her jump onto someone. I though maybe she'd fell, but boy was I wrong.
"Max!" she screamed as who I could only assume was "Max", fell to the floor in laughter.
I slowed my pace and came to a stop next to the two bodies on the floor.
"Watch out!" I heard someone yell before I was thrown to the floor next to Liz and her friend. I looked up and sure enough, there was a mass of black and denim laying on me. "Oh, fuck! My bad!"
"Perfect time for introductions!" yelled Liz, "Silver, this is my best friend. Max, this is Silver." she smiled, standing up. I sat up as much as I could and violently pushed Andy off to the side. I stood up and greeted Max appropriately.
