''Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lyin' on the floor, surrounded, surrounded.
Why'd you have to wait, where were you, where were you
Just a little late
You found me, you found me...''
The familiar words played from my headphones as I strolled through the crowded hall. People walked past me, bumping into me, some of them doing it on purpose.
I clenched my books tighter as I tried to remember which class was first.
Definitely Chemistry.
I went inside of the classroom, taking a seat in the back. It was only me in the classroom and I looked to my wrist watch to see I was about half an hour early.
I sighed as I plopped down onto the chair. I pulled out my chemistry book and decided I should probably read something since I didn't have time to study yesterday.
The reason was because my best friend Ari wouldn't stop begging me to come with her to the party at some guy's place. I was so against parties. I never went to any of them and I certainly didn't want to go.
But Ari was so desperate. She told me that some guy was going to come and she really likes him so, you know.
At the end, I agreed, which wasn't the best decision.
First, she started convincing me to wear a dress. A dangerously short black dress.
I refused.
I don't like wearing dresses and I told her that I'm only accepting jeans, nothing else.
So she found me a pair of black skinny jeans and some tight white shirt which I didn't like at all because it revealed too much of my cleavage. But I decided I should just wear my leather jacket over it and it looked surprisingly good.
After we were done preparing, we drove to that place in her car.
It was some rich kid's house and there were tons of people. It irritated me because I didn't like so many people in one place.
But I couldn't do anything about it so I just followed Ari inside.
My plan was to let Ari do whatever she wants and just stay in the corner or the room with Pepsi in my hands.
At first, my plan worked pretty well. I was just sitting on the couch with my phone, just scrolling through my messages.
But then I suddenly saw a tall figure approaching me and I lifted my gaze to see a guy, probably around my age, casually sitting next to me. He didn't have a bottle in his hand and looked as if he didn't drink at all.
He noticed I was looking at him and he turned his head to glance at me. I quickly looked away, realising I've been caught staring.
My cheeks flushed and I kept my face straight.
Just then I heard him speak. ''Hey.''
I wasn't sure if he actually said that or if my mind was just playing some tricks with me.
So I decided to just stay silent and pretend I didn't hear him. I don't even know him after all.
So I reckoned he'll just get the message and leave me alone.
And thank God, I was spared from having to sit next to him as I heard Ari's (obviously drunk) voice.
''Chloeeee!'' she was calling my name. I quickly stood up and went searching for her since the only thing I could hear was her voice.
