I woke up to the knocking on the door with Deathbringer wrapped within my arms, snoozing like there was no tomorrow. I blushed. Yeah, he had stayed with me while I was sick and I had already done a few blush worthy things with him, but I still hadn't gotten used to it. He was just such an amazing person, and all I wanted in life was to be by his side. His strong wings wrapped around me, his sweet smile, his deep blue eyes, and not to mention his captivating voice was all I want to see, touch, and hear. The knocking turned into an impatient thumping. I didn't want to wake Deathbringer by moving or yelling at the person, but I didn't want to have their pounding break the door or wake him either.

"I'm coming," I said quietly. I gently and carefully lay him down on the bed on his side. He shivered and reached out unconsciously as if he could pull back in the warmth that had surrounded him just a second ago. I smiled, looking at his adorable face, but my sight seeing was interrupted by another pounding on the door. I growled under my breath and opened the door. And, NOT to my surprise, I saw Tsunami standing there with the others.

"Shhhhhh. He's asleep," I whispered, "Come on in. I'm sure he won't mind."

"Sorry. I thought you guys were just making out or something!" Tsunami said slyly/apologetically as I ushered her in. I smacked her on the snout with my tail as she walked by and she stifled a laugh.

"Is he alright?" Clay asked quietly, he still had a piece of chicken on his oblivious nose from today's second lunch.

"Yeah. He's doing great!" I said, not wanting to mention the breaking down into tears thing and falling asleep in my arms. Starflight, who was led by Sunny, came in next. I checked to see if anyone else was there before closing the door. Tsunami sat on the desk chair, Sunny and Starflight on the floor, Clay took the bungee chair (which his rear sank to the floor so much that he got stuck) and I sat on the bed next to Deathbringer, who unconsciously snuggled up against me for warmth. He rested his chin on his claws by mine and sighed. I wrapped my long tail around him and entwined it with his and he snuggled closer. I saw Sunny raising her phone, but she quickly put it away when I gave her "the stare".

"So, how long has he been out?" Tsunami asked. I looked at the clock.

"No idea," I said with a shrug.

"What did you guys do while you were here?" Sunny asked, looking up from her phone.

"We played a little Yu-Gi-Oh, then he had some major headaches and we had to stop. That's when he fell asleep," I said.

"Oh. What's Yu-Gi-Oh?" Sunny asked. I explained the exciting, yet very complicated game to her and explained some of the basics of playing.

"Wow. My head hurts just thinking about the simple rules," Sunny replied when I had finished.

"It makes sense, yet it doesn't at the same time. Sounds fascinating," Starflight commented, facing the direction of my voice.

"No wonder he couldn't play anymore! His brain must have turned to mush! He already had headache. Why did you make him play?" Asked Tsunami.

"I tried to convince him to give himself a break, but he insisted on it and tried harder the more I asked. So I just let him do his thing!" I explained. I looked down at him and his adorable face and smiled. He looked cute when asleep. What am I saying, he looked cute all the time!

Deathbringer shifted, trying to get more comfortable and we all fell silent. None of us wanted to wake him.

"So what now? Are you going to stay with him until tomorrow? What did his mom say?" Clay asked.

"His mom understood and was fine with me staying. She's going to allow him to stay until he recovers. I'll be leaving to get back home in a couple hours so I'm not late for school tomorrow. Hopefully he'll be asleep then," I said.
