I woke up in a hospital bed and blinding white, bright lights all around me. I blinked away the sleep junk blurring my vision and the first thing I saw was an IV stand equipped with the fluids and a couple tubes coming down to my right. I sat up, wondering where I was, then memories flooded back (along with a headache.)

"Oh right. The crash..." I thought. I looked to my right to see there was an open window with sunlight coming in. I shielded my eyes, thinking nasty thoughts about their decor and paint choices. I looked to my left to see Deathbringer texting on his phone. The look on his face when he looked up was enough to make my scales go pink.

"YOU'RE AWAKE!" he cried happily, practically jumping out of his seat. He went to tackle me and caught himself before he absolutely smothered me, remembering my operation, "How do you feel?" he asked quietly, embarrassed.

"I think my scales have felt better days, but I'm much better now!" I said with a smile. I was wrapped in gauze and bandaging and my wings were too. I went to stretch and immediately regretted it, "How long was I out?"

"Two months," Deathbringer said.

"TWO MONTHS?!!!!!" I cried, my scales turning a sickly green. Deathbringer laughed.

"No. I was just joking!" He said with a giggle, "You've been going in and out of sleep for two days now."

I sighed in relief, my scales turning to a relaxed blue, "You scared me there."

"AWWWWW! Now I feel bad!" Deathbringer pouted. I laughed, which made him smile.

"So, did anything happen while I was out?" I asked.

"Not much..." Deathbringer trailed off, then got giddy and smug, "Well... you know that kid Gladiator who was attacking you and your mom that one day?" I nodded, wanting him to continue.

"Well, he was the same kid who did this to you! I saw the whole thing! He ripped this one Mudwing's face and had broken his wing. The kid's name was Musket, poor guy said this wasn't the first time Gladiator broke something of his. Well, I called him out on it and the entire school got pissed! So the principal called his dad and threatened to kick him out of Destiny High, which was his dad's dream school for his kids. So his dad, Rider, got mad and took away Gladiator's games and grounded him for a month. Gladiator had some yelling match with the teacher when he found out and got into more trouble. Even Kestrel gave him an earful. So after all that happened, we found out the Gladiator has been beating up some kids at school when they found him harassing Musket and threatening to kill him or something, so Thorn threw him off the team!" Deathbringer said excitedly, "The kid got detention for a week and wasn't allowed to go outside until that was over, and Webs had him take extra homework when he boasted about taking down one of the greatest team players in our team during class!"

"Wow! Sounds like Rider's kid's having a bad time!" I said.

"Yeah! Isn't that great! That kid's losing his reputation as we speak!" Deathbringer said.

"Did Tsunami give him a good cussing? Or is he already dead?" I asked sarcastically.

"Eh. He's got to get through detention before that happens," Deathbringer said, "Besides, Sunny wouldn't let that happen, no matter what he did."

"True, true," I said. We sat in silence for a moment.

"Oh! I thought you might want to know. That kid Musket I was talking about, he's coming to visit with Sunny and Clay. After what happened, they went to him at lunch and asked if he wanted to hang out a bit," Deathbringer said, "They're on their way now to pick up Tsunami and Anemone and their little sister."
