Day 13

Rey woke up at 3 in the morning gasping for air and in a cold sweat.

Normally when these nightmares occurred Ben would wake up soon after and hold her in his arms until she drifted back to sleep. 

But this time was different.

This time she woke up gasping, and in her struggle for air she reached desperately to the right side of the bed.

Her hand met with cool sheets.

So instead she rolled over to the side and tried to sleep once again.

Rey couldn't. No matter how many times she rolled around. No matter how many times she kept trying to convince herself that Ben was home. Maybe he was in the bathroom or something. Or maybe he had a rough night as well.

So quietly she rose from their bed and rubbed at her eyes, despite not having any sleep to rub away.

Creeping slowly, Rey walked into the kitchen, hoping that the smell of cocoa would fill the air and she'd find Ben sitting in his usual spot sipping hot chocolate to calm himself.

On these nights she would join him and they'd just sip hot chocolate in the solstice of each other's company.

But today was not most nights. Rey didn't exactly know why she had come to see if he was there because she would've heard him come home last night but he didn't.

Glancing at the clock she saw that it was 3:45 and sighing she crept towards the living room to sit down and maybe find something like Ben's jacket to hold and fall asleep to.

Instead she found that the lamp on the coffee table was on and two figures seemed to be talking in hushed voices.

One voice sounded like a female while the other an enraged male trying to keep their cool.

Walking closer to them Rey was able to clearly see who the two figures were.

The female was Bazine.

As for the male?

It was Ben.
