Austin's POV
We just stayed like that, kissing, and I loved every second of it just as much as I loved her. I finally pulled away and just stared down at her. She was just too perfect that I couldn't contain myself.
Carlie just made me so happy.
I guess I was now smiling like an idiot because Carlie started to laugh at me, but it just made my smile even more. I quickly embraced her in a hug and together we rocked back and forth. After a couple of seconds of debating with my mind, I finally made a decision that I would soon find out whether it was wrong or not...
"I love you so much Carlie, and I always will. I promise." I whispered in her ear.
Her head was now resting on my shoulder and when she didn't respond, I mentally slapped myself for saying that. She probably doesn't love you back. My mind hissed. All these negative thoughts came rushing into my mind and what I thought about what to say to cover up my feelings. I was about to start to speak again when I felt her smile into my shoulder. I immediately relaxed, knowing she didn't hate me for expressing how I felt.
"I love you too, Austin" she said confidently, before tightening the hug slightly.
That's when I knew for sure that I made the right choice. Not only in telling her 'I loved her' but in deciding to go after her again, and to come back. Being with Carlie and being without Carlie has taught me so much, and if I could re-do anything, I wouldn't change a thing.
Carlie's POV
"I love you so much Carlie, and I always will. I promise." His words kept repeating in my mind over and over again. I couldn't help but get more excited each time it played. He was perfect. He was Austin again. The real him...no the one who pushed me around, and certainly not the one who kept secrets. He was him, forever.
I tightened my grip on him, not wanting to face the reality that I would soon have to let go of him. Sadly my nightmares were faced when I heard a car honk and I had to separate from him. "That's Trin and Alexa" I sighed. Then smiling up at him I said, "come on". Not even giving him a chance to protest I dragged him to the door. Just before I was about to open the door, Austin stopped me. He grabbed my hand, "Are you sure about this....about us" he asked while looking me in the eyes.
I rolled my eyes at him. I was never more sure about anything in my life. I wanted to be with him and the fact that he doubted how I felt after everything that happened, make me a little nervous. But that's one of his many imperfections that I loved so much. Taking his hands in mine, I nodded and leaned up to peck him on the lips.
Then I opened the door walking out hand in hand with Austin. I wanted the world to know that I was in love with him. He meant too much to me, and this boy was something that I couldn't keep a secret.
