At the castle...

"I still can't believe that you let her get away!" I shriek, throwing another priceless antique vase at my idiotic head scientist.

"M'lady, she's a lot harder to capture than her mom ever was..." he says, his voice quivering.

"Absolutely pathetic..." I continue, disregarding whatever it was that crap-for-brains scientist just said. I whip around to face him, my anger burning every vein in my body. "You're demoted." I pause for a second, then add, "In fact, I think you'll be attending the next Thinning..."

"What?! No, please! I-"

I feel an evil smirk grow on my face, getting wider as I watch his face grow more terrified by the second. "Yes... In fact, I think we'll skip the experiments, as you're clearly useless, and get right to the disposal..."

He sinks to the floor, pleading as his tears drop onto my marble floors.

"Oh, don't worry, my dear... It will only hurt a lot..." I say, chuckling as my guards drag him out of the room with a slam of the big, steel double doors. I stare at the door until his cries fade to silence.

I walk over to my large, dark oak desk and take out my peacock feather pen and a sheet of paper. I make a list for the next Thinning and write my plans for them after.

Suddenly, one of my servants rushes in, handing me a letter. She bows and then leaves just as fast as she had come in. I stand up, opening the letter slowly. I glance over the first sentence.

'Plan C of the Red Bird Project has failed.'

I make a noise that sounds a bit like a growl and rip the letter in half, slamming in down on my desk. I turn on my heel and sashay over to the window and look at my lush garden that goes on for miles. There are a few servants scurrying around, tending to the hundreds of different kinds of plants. I smile slightly at their obvious pain. I look past the garden and see the city's skyscrapers reaching to the heavens. Then, I scowl as I look between two buildings and see a tiny grey dot. Her house...

I pull out my bottle of blood red nail polish that I always carry with me and put a big 'X' over the dot. I stand back and grimace as I look at the dot. My blood boils just thinking about her...

"Mark my words, you little 'Red Bird'... You'll be no more when I get my hands on you..."

Sorry for such a short chapter! I couldn't really think of much else to add to it... Besides, I like the last sentence as a ending for the chapter. ;P Maybe the next chapter will be the Queen again? IDK. Anyway, enjoy, and stay tuned for the next one!
