(Well, She Tries To Anyway)

Back at the house...

"What do you mean there was no one there?! I saw someone! They were chasing me! It was some bald guy with snake-like eyes, and there was this other guy running up behind me, and a copy of you! And-"

"Okay, hold on... Take a deep breath..." Scott says putting up his hand. "I know you're scared, but I'm telling you, nothing was there. You're probably just still half-asleep. You've had nightmares before. I wouldn't be surprised if this was another one."

"But, but I-"

"Just try to relax, okay? Nothing is there."

"...Fine..." I say, leaning back against the couch and crossing my arms.

Maybe he's right... I guess I am kinda having a few nightmares lately. But it just seemed so real...  know it was! How could I prove it to him...

The robot Scott! Hah, that's kinda fun to say...

Anyway, I'll just take him to see that!

"I can prove it was real!" I say, jumping up and pulling his arm toward the door.

"What? How?" he asks, standing up and letting me drag him to the door.

"I'll show you!" I say excitedly.

We go outside and make our way down the street, me pulling him along the whole way.

We reach the dumpster and I throw the lid up and pull myself up to look inside.

"See? I told you-" I say, stopping when I realize that it's empty.

"Yes, everything makes sense now..." Scott says, climbing down and brushing off his shirt. "Are you feeling okay?"

"I'm fine! I swear, it was in here! I put it in here..." I reply, still staring into the dumpster. Where did it go? Maybe I am sick or something...

"C'mon, let's go back to the house..." Scott says, effortlessly picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. I sigh and don't even bother with arguing anymore.

The silence on the way to the house is suffocating... I want to say something, but I don't know what to say.

It turns out I don't have to.

Scott stops walking and tenses up. I get the impression that someone, or something, just appeared in front of him.

I try to turn around, but Scott breaks out into a full blown sprint and I nearly fall off of him. He catches my arm and drags me towards the house. As I start to pick myself up and run, something grabs my foot.

I scream and turn my head to see my attacker, but my hair is getting in the way... Stupid hair...

I kick with my other foot, but then they just grab that one too.

Scott starts losing his grip and on my arm and I fall, smashing my chin on the sidewalk. That's gonna leave a mark...

I have no time to recover as whatever grabbed me starts dragging me away from the house.

Scott turned around as soon as I fell, but he was already too late.

I heard static fill the air and my hair got frizzy as blue and white waves washing over me.

Scott was yelling something but I couldn't hear him.

The was a loud pop and then darkness.

It felt like my arms and legs were getting stretched as thin as noodles. Just when I thought it was going to be the end, there was a blinding flash and I was in what appeared to be a jail cell. A hooded figure was staring at me from across the room. I tried to walk over to them, but when I would've been right in front of them, something shocked me.
