Last time Nas and I talked to each other personally was late 2000's when I was 19 and he was 25. I am now 36 and he's 42 years old. I know this has been a major 17 year jump so I'm going to inform you on the things that's happened through the years. In 2002, his mother passed and that sent him to a dark place sending him in to deep depression. I was there for him of course until he started pushing me and others away.
No him and his baby mother didn't work out because she did in fact wanted his money and was going to use that against him but the court got involved so won't be none of that. Speaking of baby mother, Nas found out they were having a girl and she is now 17 years old and a big fan of my music. Yup that's right I said music. Once I graduated in 04 earning my associates degree I took those next three years to get everything back on track and didn't kick off my career til late 07.
Now adding up those other 10 years I managed to become the greatest female rapper alive of all time breaking many records and making history. Got my mother and niece up out the hood living in a much better area where my mother doesn't have to worry about looking over her shoulders 24/7. Layla, my sweet sweet Layla is now 19 and thinks she's grown as ever. Already telling me what kind of car she wants for her 20th birthday. Taking it back 2 years from here I was in an unhealthy relationship with street rapper Meek Mill.
Thank god I got out of that as fast as I did because lord knows things weren't getting nowhere with him. I gave and put my all in our relationship even did shit, testifying for his ass to help keep him out the pens but I guess I just wasn't good enough when I know I'm damn sure worth it. But enough about that, back to the present. I know I confirmed I was single and is focusing on my work but I am talking to someone that is only known as "bae" to my fans but well all know who I called "bae" when I was younger.
If you're guessing Nas then your motherfucking right. After 17 years he managed to find his way to me. Hit me up like a few months after I told the world I was single and we've been just talking ever since. Tonight was the night we finally meet up at his new restaurant in New York and I'm super excited on top of being nervous because it's been 17 years since we've personally spoken to each other and since our careers took off we only spoke through people.
Yeah he was featured in my Right By My Side video a few years ago and feelings were there I just pushed them away because I knew he was fucking with other bitches. So here we are dating but taking things hella slow more so on the talking levels. "Candi what time I was supposed to be there tonight" I ask taking my hair down from its bun letting it flow to my ankles. "11pm" she says stepping in from the bathroom as I sighed. "Yo I'm deadass tired from last nights studio session but I'm going to go and support bae then afterwards knock the fuck out." I say.
Grabbing my brush I brushed my hair from small tangles as she came over to flat iron it. "After all these years I can't believe y'all rekindling cookie. Y'all deadass cute, no wait mad cute back in the day but hella sexy now" she says as I blushed. "Oh please we've only been talking over the phone. Haven't seen him in person until tonight but yeah I can say we both have grown because he's daddy as fuck" I say licking my lips rolling my tongue.
"You gone give him some tonight sis" she says as I smacked my teeth. "Now listen bitch...." I say as she snickered. "What I'm just saying y'all haven't seen each other in so long so finally seeing each other those feelings gone spark quickly." She says as I sighed. "Yeah you're right but I've already made it my business to be celibate for a while." I shrugged. "Oh wow, let's see how long that'll last because bitch please I know you" she says as I raised my hand in the air fanning her off.
"Be quiet and finish my hair hoe so I can do my makeup." I say as she laughed. Once she was done I did my makeup then placed on my clothes. Slipping my heels on I grabbed my purse and was now ready to go. "Okay let's go, my driver is waiting on me out front." I say as she grabbed the room key following behind me. "When we get to the door record me walking out so I can post on my Instagram what I'm wearing" I say handing her my phone as she nodded.
My bodyguard was already waiting and had the little people in the lobby out of the way so I wasn't bombarded by anyone. "Okay you ready" Candi says as I fixed my hair. "Yeah" I say walking out the moving door stepping outside turning around to the camera giving a fierce look as she ended it. "Lemme see" I say as she handed me my phone. "I'll look at it in the car" I say going over to get in the backseat. "Alright girl you and bae have fun and enjoy your meals. Bring me some chicken and waffles back" she says as I shook my head.
"Wow okay Candi. I'll call you when I make it back" I say getting in the car placing my seatbelt on. My fans are going go buck once they find out where I'm going and who I'm meeting up wth but for now I'm going to just keep them guessing by posting the video Candi just recorded of me adding "Pretty in Pink🎀 jacket by #Givenchy" as my caption. "We are now headed to the Sweet Chick Life restaurant Miss Minaj and it'll take about 20 minutes to get there due to traffic" the driver says as I nodded.
As those twenty minutes passed we were now at the restaurant. I got mad butterflies in my stomach as I got out the car being escorted to the door. Walking inside it was a lot of people here which is why I was confused because he said this was just our date but come to find out he had a table way in the back with other important people and a spot just for me right beside him. I blushed when we smiled at me standing up holding his hand out as I made my way around the table saying excuse me trying to get by.
"Wow it's been a long ass time, wassup baby girl so glad you could make it" he says as I cheesed hearing him call me baby girl. Felt so good hearing that after all these years so it made me a little shy and giggly. "I know it's been forever, you look good" I say as he pulled my chair out for me to sit down. "You do too baby. Like you a grown ass woman now so I can't call you baby girl anymore" he says as I did a fake pout. "Nooooo yes you can bae" I say as he smirked. "Oh you like it when I call you baby girl" he ask as I nodded my head.
"Yes I do, brings back memories ya know" I smiled as he winked. "Crazy memories too, damn it's been mad long" he says as I agreed. "Yes indeed but could you pass me one of the menus please. Your restaurant is nice. You did a pretty dope job if I do say so myself" I smiled as he handed me a menu. "Thank you baby girl. We have some of the best chicken and combinations so go ahead and help yourself. Everything's on me tonight" he winks as I looked it over.
"Yo let's take a picture real quick so the world and my fans can finally see who bae is" I say pulling my phone out. "Alright" he says taking my phone handing it to someone who worked here to take a few pics of us. "Ohh I like all of these but I'm gone post this one" I say pointing to the one with his arms wrapped around me. "Fine with me, make sure I'm tagged" he says as I sat up opening my Instagram app. "You know I got you daddy" I winked as he smirked.
