That Evening.....

Nas POV

All I remember is opening my front door to let the dogs out and next thing you know two black trucks swerved in my driveway catching me off guard firing gunshots. I know Nicki was with me but I was so in and out of it I barely remember the ride here and I'm just now waking up after being put down for surgery. Seeing everyone in the room I saw no one noticed I was up so I planned on keeping it that way for awhile to think.

I didn't even realize that was Nicki at the end of the bed until I seen her nod her head over from sleeping. Damn bet my baby was losing her mind seeing me this way but I'm gone find out who pulled this weak ass move. Plus I'm going to talk to Nicki about us moving soon, can't have her nor our baby girl in danger. All of a sudden a nigga had to pee so I tried to move realizing I couldn't as sharp pain instantly went through my chest, shoulder, and knee.

"Ssssss....ahhh" I winced causing Nicki to jump up and boy she looked like she hasn't slept in days. "Baby you're finally up" she says standing up stretching walking over to me. Her eyes were red and puffy probably from her crying and being tired. "How you feeling" she ask softly before leaning down pecking my lips. "In pain and a nigga got to piss" I say as she grabbed the bed remote. "Well here let me help you" she says before pressing the button making the bed sit up.

I pressed the nurse icon as she shook her head. "No baby I got you" she says as the bed came to a stop. "Yes oh you're up...need anything" a nurse says coming in as Nicki sighed under her breath. "Yeah some pain meds and I'm trying to get in to the bathroom now." I say as she nodded. "Okay I can get you your crutches and help you..." she says as Nicki cut her off. "Nah I got it girl thanks though" she says as I shook my head.

"Oh well alright then I'll just see about those pain pills and let the doctor know you're up" she says leaving back out as I nodded looking over at Nicki seeing she was smiling, holding one of my crutches. "You know she could've helped right" I say as she shrugged handing it to me. "Yeeeeah but I got you daddy, come on" she says before helping me up which was a struggle and a little hard to breathe due to being wounded in my lower chest but she helped and managed to get me to the toilet.

"See I knew you'd be like this up under this damn gown so that's why I said you were good" she says as I slightly chuckled. "Yeah you crazy ain't nobody checking for me" I say as she tuh'd me. "Finish up boy" she says before peeping outside the bathroom. "The doctors here and I need to go feed Nazzy." she says as I finished. Making it back to the bed they gave me my pain meds then went over my recovery plan. They gone keep me up here for at least 2 weeks then afterwards therapy from home.

Nicki POV

Thank god my baby is going to be okay but it's going to take a while for him to heal and lots of therapy for his knee. I know who did this shit and he wants to meet up with me tonight. I haven't told Nasir yet because I know he's not going to want me to go and that'll just get him all worked up when he needs to be resting. "Babe you want to hold your daughter before we leave" I say walking over to the bed as he nodded.

Placing her in his arms I sat down beside him contemplating on telling him my next move. Everyone else had left the hospital but Candi so it was just us three but she left out. "So I know who did this to you and I didn't tell the police too much information because I'm going to handle it." I say as he frowned his face at me. "No you're fucking not Onika. You and the baby are going to your moms house while I figure all this shit out." He says as I mugged him.

"Nigga are you serious?" I say as he ignored me placing his attention back on Nasira. "I said what I said" he says as I nodded. "You need to stop acting like I'm not that same down to ride ass bitch and let me handle shit" I say annoyedly. "I'm just trying to protect the two of you, it's my job so you just sit this one out" he says as I stood up. "Wow and I'm not trying to protect us either? Nigga I just said I know who's behind this and you sitting up here hurt can't do shit about it so it's now on me" I say as he sighed.

"Oh I know too which is why doobie and the boys will figure shit out you will go to your moms house like I said and that's my final word" he says as I took Nasira from him as she instantly started crying. "We'll see about that" I say as Candi came back in. "Onika I'm not fucking playing with you" he says as I shrugged laying the baby down checking her diaper. "Don't play with me, I'm gone call your mom and make sure you're there." He says as I nodded.

"Okay you do that. Candi can you pass me a diaper and warm up her last bottle please. I'll stop by the house and get some more from the freezer along with pumping when we leave" I say as she did as told. "Why you so stubborn" Nasir ask as I changed Nasira. "Why you won't let me do my job as your wife" I say as he said nothing. "Exactly" I respond finishing up with Nasira picking her up disposing her dirty diaper. "Kiss her goodnight" I say leaning her down for him to do so. Kissing him good bye we left but I had business to handle.
