I woke up bright and early for this Disney trip. The plan was to meet at my apartment and drive to the airport after that. I showered putting on my my clothes for Disney. I woke Zack so he could get ready and I prepared Bailey for the flight. I had picked up his sleeping pills last night. I fed him one and sat him in his carrier.
"Zack! You ready?". I called to him from the front door.
"Yea. Just give me a second". He called back.
He returned with our suitcases in hand.
"You don't have to get my suitcase if you don't want to". I looked at him skeptically as we entered the elevator.
"Nah. I got it". He shrugged.
The elevator opened and we went to my car. Zack loaded the trunk with our suitcases while I secured Bailey's carrier.
I got into the car and called Mom and Dad.
"Hey. Where are you guys?". I asked.
"Turning in. Do you want to follow us or you know where to go?". Mom sighed tiredly.
"I'll follow you. Is Dad in the car with you?". I frowned at the phone.
"Yes. And so is Grandma". She sounded like she was rolling her eyes.
"Hm. Ok let me back out". I chuckled.
I put the gear into reverse and backed out of my parking spot. Mom's car was already at the exit. As soon as she saw the car was straight she started driving.
My apartment building suprisingly wasn't that far from the airport. Because thirty minutes later we were pulling into the parking garage.
"Put this sticker in on your window". Dad commanded handing it go me through the winded down window.
"Alrighty". I replied.
I stuck the sticker on the rear view mirror and got out. I got Bailey and he was fast asleep in his carrier.
"How long is he gonna be out?". Grandma asked handing Dad her suitcase.
"Seven hours". I sighed.
We headed into the airport making sure we got everything.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I sat comfortably in my seat next to Zack. Grandma was in the seat in front of us with a young boy. Mom and Dad sat together across the aisle."This is your captain speaking, we are on our way to Florida, so just sit back and relax". The Captain's voice came on the speaker.
The plane began rolling down the runway. Zack grabbed my hand.
"What's wrong?". I looked at him.
"I've never been on a plane before". He shifted nervously.
"Don't worry you'll be fine. If you need me I'm right here". I smiled squeezing his hand.
I had the flight attendant bring Zack some sleeping pills. He needed them. He was a nervous wreck. I reclined my seat and decided to take a nap.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I woke up to someone tapping my shoulder."Huh?". I answered grogily.
"We are going to be landing in a bit so could you please straighten your chair and fasten your seatbelt?". The flight attendant asked cheerfully.
"Oh-yeah sure". I shook my head and pulled my seat up.
I looked over at Zack and he was awake.
"Hey. How'd you sleep?". Zack asked.
"Good". I smiled softly.
The plane was descending lightly, until we were on the ground.
"Thank you God". Zack said under his breathe.
I laughed.
"Your such a scaredy cat". I giggled.
"Whatever eye part". He smirked.
I shot him a dirty look.
Everyone began getting their things from the over head. I yelled for Zack to get the bags as I ran to get Bailey. Hopefully the pills hadn't worn off or he was going to flip out.
I got to the front desk of Fort Lauderdale Airport.
"Hi I'm here to pick up my dog. He was on the flight from California". I spoke.
"Yes. And what is the dog's name?". She smiled.
"Bailey". I replied.
She went into the back and brought out Bailey's dog carrier.
"He's still asleep". She chuckled.
"Thank God. Thank you by the way". I beamed walking over to Zack.
"What's the hold up?" I frowned.
"Grandma had to use the bathroom". Zack sighed.
"Where are Mom and Dad?". I looked around.
"They went to find a map to a rental car place". He answered.
I nodded. I felt the carrier jerk and I looked inside to see Bailey waking up.
I set the carrier on the floor and opened the door. A groggy Bailey stepped out and walked to me. I picked him up and kissed his head.
I put him back down and latched his leash onto his collar. I walked outside to let him use the bathroom. As he walked and did his buisness he stretched his body out.
After a few minutes passed, I took him back inside.
"Honey, the car is here!". Mom yelled to me from outside.
I walked Bailey toward the car. I helped him inside and sat in the second row back seat. The car was a black Tahoe.
"Off to the hotel!". Dad announced.
The hotel sadly was in Orlando so we'd have to drive the rest of the way. Mom was in the passenger seat. Zack and Grandma were sitting in the front row and Bailey and I in the back.
"We should make it to Orlando by this afternoon". Dad sighed.
I yawned. This trip made me really sleepy. I curled into a ball, with Bailey licking my face.
"Sleep". I told him.
He curled up next to my face and closed his eyes.
And Zack says he doesn't understand me.
Hopefully when I woke up we were at the hotel.
