Rowan blushed bright red and dropped Sophie's hands looking away, he rubbed his red neck. "Can we just forget this?" He asked. "What?" Sophie asked again.

The words made sense but she was confused as to why she felt so disappointed. "Marella Redek?" She asked making Rowan sigh, as he nodded. "Listen I don't want you thinking I got close to you, to get to her...I mean you really are cool...but yeah...I like her." He said nervously. "And I know she's been going through a rough time, but I've tried doing everything....I mean everything to get her to notice me."

Sophie looked down and fiddled with her family crest. Clearing her throat, she shoved aside her tangled ball of emotions aside for later. "Have you just said it straight forward?" She asked, "No way. Are you kidding?" Rowan asked. "Well that's the only alternative since nothing else works." Sophie shrugged. "Well...I guess, but before I do could you see if she likes me at all? Or just find out what she likes. Please Sophie?" His eyes were so imploring and pleading Sophie found herself nodding.

"Alright. However-" The smile that was growing on Rowan's face stopped. "I might need the favor returned." Sophie said. Rowan's smile grew, stretching from ear to ear. "I'll do anything when you need it." He promised. Sophie looked at the sun, that was casting gold rays across the sky as it started to sink. "We should probably go. Edaline and Grady will want me back before sunset...probably." As far as Sophie knew she didn't have a curfew, but she needed to figure out her bundled emotions before they became a problem. "Yeah, I still have homework to do." Rowan said standing up. He and Sophie shook out and folded the picnic blanket. Rowan offered her his arm as kind and gentle as ever.

A blissful smile of pleasure on his face. Sophie took a deep breath and pushed her arm through his, and walked down the slope, where the chime shop waited. The chimes had quieted, and only three or four would ring at random times. Rowan gave the basket to Melody and bid Sophie a goodnight before leaping away. "He is quite a young man is he not?" Melody asked, as she set the basket down. "Yeah...you could say that." Sophie said. Melody chuckled. "I want to start a garden." Sophie surprised herself by saying abruptly. Realizing it was true.

"For Calla?" Melody asked. Sophie looked up to see tears in Melody's eyes. "I knew her well... I heard she had taken root at Havenfield." Sophie nodded, surprised Melody had known Calla. "I suppose that's why you want the chime." Melody sighed. Sophie nodded. "It sounds just like the song she sang me once, I want to hang it on one of her branches."

"In that case, if you want it that bad you may try once a day to get the chime, only using your physical abilities." Melody said as she bent over a flower bed. "When you plant your garden, place these somewhere around her tree...she dearly loved them." Pulling seeds off of a stem of lavender, Melody snapped and a handkerchief appeared. Wrapping up the seeds in it. "You're a conjurer?" She asked as she took the silky soft handkerchief. "And a Guster." Melody winked a bit of bright light entering her eyes.

"That's how the chimes..." Sophie looked around at the shop. "Yes, I cause a breeze to ring them every day." She said. "Now go home, I'm sure your guardians are getting worried." She said playfully pushing Sophie to the door. "Thank you, Melody. I'm glad I met you." Sophie said as she stepped outside. "As am I, Sophie." Melody smiled as Sophie raised her home crystal. "I'll be over tomorrow to try and get the chime." Sophie promised before stepping in the light. She arrived home, and waved to Grady who was talking to a gnome.

Going inside she found Edaline, making tea. "You're back?" Edaline asked surprised. "Yeah. I have homework to do." Sophie said. "But...can I talk to you first?" Sophie asked hesitantly, which drew Edaline's attention immediately. "Sure, here....tea." Giving Sophie a mug she sat down at the table almost easterly. Sophie gingerly sniffed the tea. "It's not a sedative. It helps you get sleep and wake up early." Edaline explained. Sophie cautiously tried a sip, but instead of the bitter taste she was expecting, she found it was sweet to perfection. Neither to sweet nor to bitter.
