At the training center the next day, Cato got really mad. I mean, really mad. Not at me of course. Somebody took his knife, it was a really nice one with a unique outline and silver finish, really sharp too. he started threatening this other kid that he thought took it, but we never found out who really did.
So that resulted in Cato being upset the rest of the day, only allowing Clove to calm him down. Why are they so clingy? I mean, them together, that's so not meant to be. Clove needs to be taught a lesson, and it will be taught, when the time is right. Now.
I tug her by her brown French braid and yank her over to the spear station.
"Why do you spend so much time with Cato? You know he doesn't like you right?" I ask her sternly.
"Why would you think that?" Clove asks in a feisty manner. "Cato doesn't like you, you know, he never has, never will."
"What makes you so sure, huh? he is all over me."
Clove rolls her eyes. " You wish."
I pull her braid as hard as I can bring her ear to my mouth. I whisper, angered," I'd watch my back if I were you." And then I let go, leaving her behind. There are words for people like her. But I've been raised well.
.
After a couple of hours, myself and the other careers grew bored. So we stood and talked for a little, about our skills and everything, watching the other tributes, deciding who to go after first. I knew. Katniss. Peeta. Those are most important, and Clove, whenever possible.
"How 'bout twelve?" I ask them.
Peeta had just fallen from the rope and climbing station, causing us to chuckle a bit.
"Look at them, acting like a team, do they know where they are?" Marvel comments as Katniss walks over to Peeta.
Suddenly he limps to these giant black medicine balls. What is he gonna do with them? Bake them into a cake?
I'm shocked when I see him carry one. how can he do that? Peeta takes a few steps forward and sways his arms. I stare intently, awaiting the outcome, as does the others.
I step back in shock when I see him throw it across the room, hitting some silver arrows.
"Not bad. We'll see" Cato says.
"We'll see about what? You can't think that he is of any use to us!" I protest.
I mean yeah, he has some talent, and is strong, but what else? He has no idea what he's up against.
