The following two days of training went by smoothly, if I say so myself. I shot more accurately this time on the target, hitting the center three times, and only missing the dummy and target once.

I even experimented a bit with other weapons, I used the spears a bit. And, mainly so I could spend time with Cato, swords. I actually did fairly well, except they were really heavy and difficult to manage. But whenever Cato looked I sliced and stabbed the dummy as hard as I could, leaving it to shreds.

Breaking the silence, I trot over to him to start conversation. " Your really good at this. I'm just a beginner so it's nice to see someone else do it right" I say in a sweet voice.

"Thanks" is all he replies.

"So, uh, what do you think about Clove?" I ask casually.

His face goes a bit red. "She's cool."

"Well I just wanted to make sure that you weren't actually into her, I mean, she isn't really in our league."

"Our league?" He asks.

"Just look at all your options, and decide what's best for you." I inform as I touch his shoulder with a flirtacious smile. But That is all I say as I flip my pigtails and sassily walk away back to my sword.

I additionally went to the fire station. I mean who would it hurt to know how to make a fire? it was really boring. But I thought it would be good for me, so I still did it. The basic thing Is rubbing sticks, so when it took me a while to get it, all the people from the smart districts gave me a funny look. I just shot them an evil eye.

Why are poor people so crude?

.

After that last day of training, coming back to the Penthouse was relaxing. I planted myself on the giant purple couch in the center of the main room and took a nice, deep nap. I haven't had one in days.

After a few hours I wake up with Placidus in my face. "Well that's attractive"he says with a giggle as he grabs a kerchief from his suit and rubs my mouth with it. Do I drool?

I sit up as he starts talking. "Okay Glimmer, tomorrow is a very important day. In the morning you will be evaluated on your training skills, which Amethyst will tell you more about. And I step in more in the next day.

"What's the next day?" I ask curious.

"Your interview of course! I will be designing your dress, it is really going to express who you are!" he says in a dreamily excited tone.

"Ugh I forgot about that. I have no idea what to say."

"Oh don't worry, Amy will help you out with that part. Though I might be able to give you a few hints, I guess" he mentions in his usual bubbly voice.

.

Breakfast was delicious, absolutely wonderful. Scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and homemade croissants.

I sit back in satisfaction while Marvel still stuffs his face with eggs.

"Aren't you full?" I ask him.

Leather answers for him, "Eggs are full of protein, good for a man."

I shrug, and force myself one last piece of bacon.

"So what's gonna happen today?" Marvel asks our mentors with a stuffed mouth.

"Well, they're gonna call you in one, by one. You guys will go first, since it's by District, And once your in, you'll just perform the task or tasks that you wish to do, say thank you, and it's done" Leather explains.

"So Glimmer you might want to grab a bow and shoot some arrows, and if you remember, show them how to make a fire, it's good to show survival skills. Marvel did you practice any in training?"

"Yeah, I can build a rope trap and a snare."

"Excellent, your scores should be great!" Fannia says with a pink smile that matches her hair.

Amethyst and Leather then escort us away from our quarters, and to a secluded metal room. Kind of like the one Katri sent me to, except there were many more people in it this time. Specifically, tributes.

"Now just go wait in here and they will call you in about ten minutes so warm up" Amethyst instructs. Marvel and I nod.

"Glimmer,Belcourt" a sudden female voice says. I stand, and to be honest, I'm a bit nervous, but I don't show it.

"Good luck in there" Marvel says. A few tributes chuckle, others stay silent.

Clove smirks.

A man in black leads me to the training center, where numerous weapons await to be used.

I head towards the bows and arrows, which are luckily right by the room where the gamemakers sit in gaze. I grab an arrow along with the shining silver bow. I load. The end of the arrow tickles my fingertips, I take a deep breath, and release. the arrow hits the center, not the exact center though. I watch the gamemakers exchange looks. Then I do three more arrows all landing on the target, but none on the bullseye. At the close end of the room is a metal cube with sticks on top of it. Fire. I confidently walk over and grab a long wooden stick and place it between my hands, I rub. I rub up and down over the sticks until a spark forms, starting a fire, I smile. once the fire is created, it put it out with a tool next to it. I bow to the gamemakers and exit.

"Thank you" is all I say.
