At dinner we all eat ravenously. Having practically starved ourselves in training. We had lamb, mashed potatoes with gravy, cherry pie, salad, and a ton of other food I don't know how to pronounce.
It's all delicious until I accidentally stick my hair in the mashed potatoes.
"Goodness Glimmer, you need to learn how to eat correctly." Fannia says.
I give her a simple look informing her I understand.
"Okay guys, the games are tomorrow. which means we are going to be with you guys a lot more from now until then, you'll need as much training as you can get" Leather says. Amethyst nudged him. "Oh, and you will be trained separately from now on. Marvel we'll go back to the den when we are done with dinner."
"And we can just go to your room, if that's alright with you" Amethyst says calmly.
I nod assuringly.
.
"Okay so the first thing I need to tell you about is the cornucopia." Amethyst suggests as she flips her blond flowing locks out of her face. I guess that is a good idea.
"I know you want the bow but you can get it after the bloodbath calms down a bit. You should grab a knife or a sword first."
"Why?"
"The bloodbath happens so fast, and you don't have the time or the focus to use it in that time."
I shrug in approval of the plan.
"What about after?"
"Well your going to go off with the careers, and so you have a couple options. Usually the first night, careers go hunting for tributes, then go back to the cornucopia to be around all the goods. But that part is all up to you guys."
"Do you think I should kill them if I take watch?"
" When I was in the hunger games, I did on the third night, all but one of them, he was my friend, but later died of infection. But that doesn't matter. That is all you. if you think they're a threat, then go ahead.
I know who. Clove. I want to kill her, for sure. The thought of it makes me smirk.
"Dinner is about to start though so we should get going" Amethyst says.
.
After dinner I head back to my room to get some rest, tomorrow is a big day.
"Glimmer! Hey Glimmer!" Marvel shouts.
"What's up"
" Um since tomorrow is the games I though I should tell you something."
"Course"
"So you remember when we we kids, and the hunger games were starting, and I kind of 'abandoned' you, you said."
"It's nice to bring back that lovely memory" I reply in a sarcastic tone.
"The reason was umm... I uh... had a crush on you."
And before I could say anything he butts in.
"And I felt so shy and awkward around you, and you had a boyfriend I think at the time. So I just got so upset, I left." He stops speaking, giving leeway for me to.
"Marvel. I uh, don't know what to say." This couldn't have gone any worse. I don't like him that way. We are going into the hunger games, one victor remember?
" Keep in mind, that both of us can't come out of that arena together" I say, trying to ease the situation.
"It's okay Glimmer, I have to go to bed anyways." And then he exits the hallway silently.
