not more than a week later, mark was surprised after he came home from one of his night classes at college to find jackson in the kitchen opening yet another package. discerning the distinctly familiar box, mark's face scrunched in confusion.

"what-"

"another cake," jackson replied absentmindedly as he got it open. "looks like this one is vanilla, ooohhh."

"what?" mark asked perplexedly. "but we haven't even finished the first one."

looking over jackson's shoulder, mark read the words, this time in yellow frosting and block letters, not to mention a comical drawing of a car on the side.

"i'm sorry i ran over your foot with my car again."

"'again?'" mark smirked, unable to help himself from being a little amused. "don't you think once was enough?"

"i don't know, man," jackson shrugged, handing him a piece. "but we got a damn good cake out of it."
