"So why are you going to Ireland dressed like that?" Lilly asked, eyeing his fancy suit with curiosity. Not that he didn't look good in it, he looked like a greek god of some sort. Chiseled face, a body to kill for, his hair and his eyes. They are the darkest of blue, reminded her of the Atlantic Ocean.
He gave her a sideway glance and continued to walk briskly. "I'm going to propose to someone important."
Lilly tried to hide her disappointment, of course he'd be taken! Not that she is interested in him of course! She had many things to worry about back home. There's the Inn, her car, the landlord, and of course, her little ray of sunshine, Belle.
"Well congratulations, I guess?"
Rikkard Ambrose grunted in reply, "Enough about that, now tell me, how are we going to find a ship that will take us to Ireland?"
Lilly grinned and replied, "I have a friend whose taking me home. Now, where in Ireland do you wish to go to exactly?"
"Dublin"
Lilly frowned, the boat can't go to Dublin. It would take a few days to go there by sea. If he wants to propose to his girlfriend the soonest he should just take the train.
"The boat can't go to Dublin. You can just come with me for the night and leave on the train tomorrow. That way, you'll be able to propose her on time."
The man beside her grunts, even though in his mind he is confused. What the hell is she talking about? Well he wasn't completely answering her questions, but who could blame him? The woman talked a lot, not what he expected from such a petite lady.
So instead of answering her questions, he quickly scanned the area and looked for the exit sign and briskly walked out of the airport. Once they were outside Lilly was already a panting mess and dropped her suitcases. Rikkard looked sideways at the woman, his lips twitching upwards.
The fiery irish woman looked up to him and glared. "Not everyone has long legs, you could have at least walked slowly."
"I don't want to waste time. Now tell me where this boat of yours is."
Lilly tried her hardest not to smack the man with her bag. She stopped walking and silently looked after the man ahead her. He must have a sixth-sense or he has eyes at the back of his head because he abruptly stopped and slowly turned towards her. His gaze hardened, though he does look delectable, she cannot help but feel a little intimidated. Just who is this man?
"Why are you not moving?"
Lilly kept silent and thought of ways on how to tell him that there's a tiny possibility that her friend had already set sail. But good o'l Tony sometimes—all the time actually—looses the track of time whenever he's on a talking rampage. Lilly hopes he's got a nice looking woman to blabber his head off. Especially since the weather's a bit harsh she'd bet a few drinks he's out there complaining 'till the next harvest season.
"Why do you keep on spacing out, woman! Focus on me, not on your stupid time-consuming thoughts!"
Lilly ignored the man and started thinking of ways on how to say it to him gently that they may or may not be able to go there. Judging by the looks of this man, he probably had his whole life written on a planner or something.
"I can believe I'm wasting my time for a complete stranger! A dazed daydreamer that I'll probably never see—"
"Excuse me? Before you insult me, I am actually thinking of wa—"
"You're thinking? Well, this ought to be destructive." Rikkard interrupted and secretly gave himself a pat in the back for making himself sound smart. He wasn't usually like this, but something in the woman made him want to erase all agenda in his list and annoy her instead.
