Sorry for not updating sooner! I've had writer's block!
Zeb lay awake. Staring at the top of the bunk where his friend lay.
He felt horrified as Ezra and Kanan walked out of the Phantom that day.
Ezra came back blinded.
Kanan came back mentally broken.
And Ahsoka didn't come back at all.
Everything was so messed up.
Why'd it have to end this way?
A sudden whimpering filled the cabin and Zeb was on his feet immediately.
Looking at the top bunk where Ezra was curled up tightly in a ball.
"Get out of my head" he was muttering under his breath.
"Get out of my head!" Ezra screamed.
Zeb stared worriedly at the boy. What was he supposed to do?
He considered going to get Kanan, but he couldn't leave Ezra in this state.
He had no idea what was going on in Ezra's brain, but he could tell it was bad.
'It's probably just a nightmare' he told himself.
Ezra whimpered again and began shivering.
Zeb quickly picked the boy up in his arms and sat on his bunk.
"Ezra. Ezra it's okay. I promise. Calm down" he said.
Ezra continued to mumble the same words.
"Get out my head. Please. Go away."
Zeb looked down at Ezra worriedly. What was he going to do?
He got Ezra into a better position before putting his arms around him.
"Ezra, listen to me. I'm right here. You're on the Ghost. Your safe."
The last two words definitely seemed to calm Ezra down a little.
He stopped his mumbling and shivered.
Zeb began rubbing his back in a comforting way.
He didn't really know what he was doing, by he was sure he was doing it right.
Zeb realised Ezra had woken up when the boy tried to move.
"Hey, hey. Easy kid. Don't worry, I've got you" he said.
"Zeb?" Ezra whispered.
"Yeah. It's me kid. Don't worry" Zeb replied softly.
It felt it was nescessary to whisper.
"Am I really safe on the Ghost. Maul isn't here?"
"I promise that sack of Bantha fodder isn't here" Zeb replied.
Ezra sniffed and snuggled closer to Zeb.
"Listen. It'll be okay. I've got you" Zeb said as Ezra clutched to the Lasat's arm.
"I'll protect you."
Ezra fell asleep in Zeb's arms and he breathed out a sigh of relief.
At least that was over with.
Putting his bow rifle right beside his bed for good measure, he placed Ezra gently back on his bunk.
Lying back down on his own bed, he let sleep take over him.Just to be clear, this isn't a ZebxEzra moment because I DO NOT SHIP IT.
I respect anyone's opinion, but personally I don't like the ship between Ezra and Zeb.
This was a bonding and comfort moment between the two space bothers.
Hoped you liked it.
