Ezra got back to base that night, just as the Ghost landed.
He waited at the end of the ramp as the crew walked off.
"Hey Ezra" Sabine greeted.
"Hey Sabine. Kanan, could I have a word with you?" Ezra asked.
"Uh sure."
The Jedi followed Ezra to the edge of a cliff.
The stood in silence. Ezra could feel the awkwardness and fear inside Kanan.
"The Sith Holocron is gone. I dealt with it" he said after a while.
"You blew it up?" Kanan asked.
"No. I...I kinda put it somewhere safe" Ezra replied.
"Ezra look, about earlier, I'm sorry. I just feel like everything that's happened is my fault."
"Well it's not. What happened wasn't either of our faults except mine. I sacrificed myself for you and Vader took Ahsoka's life."
"I'm just glad your still alive. I don't know what I'd do without you Ezra."
"You wouldn't have anyone to tell you how much you suck at Dejark" Ezra grinned. Kanan chuckled at that.
"Fair enough. But seriously, I want your honest opinion. Do you forgive me?"
Kanan gave an inward gasp when Ezra wrapped his arms around him.
"I forgive you Kanan. I never blamed you for anything that happened" he told him.
Kanan out his arms around Ezra and held him close but not tight.
Ezra sighed contently in Kanan's arms.
"Ezra, I only want to protect you. You know that right?" Kanan inquired.
"Oh I know that trust me" Ezra told him.
They drew away from one another but Kanan kept Ezra in a side hug.Things were going to be alright.
