Kanan sat on his bed, staring up at the top bunk.
Lost in his own thoughts.
He'd been set a new assignment from Hera so he was having a rest before it.
It had been a few days since his Dark side moment. Ezra had been forced to stay in the medic-bay because of head damage.
Kanan couldn't bear seeing him.
Just looking at him brought back the memory of him hurting his Padawan.
The door hissed and he looked over.
Ezra stood there, hand against the wall.
"Ezra. Hey, what are you doing here?" He asked standing, then noticed the Sith Holocron open and on his table.
He reached for it but Ezra leant against the bench.
"I think it's time for us to talk" he answered.
"Really? Uh, now's not a good time. I've just been assigned a mission."
"Yeah. Sabine told me."
Ezra's hand moved across the table and connected with the Holocron.
He picked it up and felt it.
"The Sith Holocron? You opened it?" He inquired in disbelief.
"Yeah I opened it. So what?" Kanan asked.
"Kanan. You told me only a Dark side wielder could open this thing."
"Well the things it's told me had really helped."
"You're using it?"
"Maybe you should too. You might actually learn something" Kanan told him.
"Kanan. Do you have any idea how dangerous this is? You could go down the path of the Dark side" Ezra argued.
"If it helps protect you guys. I'm willing to take the risk!" Kanan snapped.
Ezra sighed and gripped the Holocron tightly.
"It's too dangerous to let you keep this" he said walking out.
"Fine. I don't need it. Just like I don't need you."
Ezra froze in the doorway.
Did Kanan really just say that?
With a glance at his master, he left the cabin.
Kanan watched him go.
A sudden guilt swirling in him.

What had he just done?
