Shattered Glass & Splashing Balloons

Esther's POV

When Tessa ran upstairs, I was so confused, I had no idea what to do or how to react. I knew it wasn't my business because I just met her, but at the same time it was, because this was a prank I was part of and it seemed it gave her a hard time already.

We also went upstairs, Chance behind me with my bags and telling me which room we have to go to. As soon as I opened the door I took my stuff from Chance, closing the door once I was inside and letting Chance outside of the room with a really confused look on his face. I couldn't understand how he thought he would need this prank to figure out if Tessa likes him, when it was as obvious as the fact that this prank was the worst idea in the history of pranks.

I didn't know what to do by the time Tessa came out of the bathroom. She probably cried again but tried to suppress it in front of me. I decided to ignore this topic because it wouldn't lead anywhere.

I asked where I could put my clothes and she showed me her wardrobe where she made some space for me. I unpacked and left the room because I was over-challenged with the whole situation.

The same moment I opened the door, I saw Erika, who want to come in. I got out, she went in, closed the door behind her, and I could immediately hear that Tessa throw her arms around Erika's neck and started crying again. I went downstairs as fast as I could so I didn't have to hear what they were talking about, probably about me because I am kind of the evil one in this situation.

Unfortunately I didn't look where I was going and as soon as I was down the stairs I ran into someone and knocked him to the ground. As soon as the person hit the floor I heard something shatter. I just stood there, completely frozen, when I realised it was Kade, at least I think that was his name and he had a glass of water with him.

"I am so sorry, Kade. I wasn't looking where I was going. Are you alright?" I tried to say in a calm voice, but I think I nearly shouted because I was so overwhelmed. Again. Not the first time today. I could also feel how the blood was rushing through my cheeks turning them read because I was so embarrassed.

"I'm fine." He said while I tried to help him up, looking what mess I caused.

I instantly kneeled down to collect the flinders, sadly Kade did the same and our heads collided throwing me back on the bum. I tried to laugh it off while my head really hurt.

"I guess I am bad luck to the whole Team." I said.

"This could happen to anyone. Don't blame yourself, I was in your way." he answered, laughing so I smiled back.

Kade's POV

When Esther collected the glass from the ground I just stood there because I didn't want to collide with her a third time. I looked at her the whole time. From head to toe, she looked so cute, and her reddish cheeks made her even cuter. It was really sad, she's dating Chance. He's a nice guy, but I would've liked a chance to get to know and maybe date her as well.

Esther's POV

I could feel Kade's eyes on me, but I didn't look up, the situation was embarrassing enough for me.

I didn't know where to put the glass, so I asked him where I could find the bin. He smiled and said: "I'll take that, don't worry about it." and he took the glass from me. I wondered why he hadn't just shown me the bin, but he probably knows what he's doing.

The moment his fingers touched mine, I felt a tingle through my whole body and the blood rushing back to my cheeks. I pulled my hands back and was confused what that feeling was, so I just tried to ignore it.

Chance came out of the office looking at us and said ironically:

"What are you two doing here? Are you cheating on me, babe?" he kissed the top of my head and laughed at his own joke. Kade went on the run, not looking back and I stood there with Chance on my side not knowing what just happened.

"I think I'm grabbing some fruits for dinner and then going to bed, I'm really tired" I told Chance while looking at the clock. It wasn't that late, but I was still exhausted from the flight.

"Ok, sweet dreams." he smiled and went back to the office.

The next morning I was up quite early because I went to bed around 8 pm. Tessa was still asleep and I didn't want to wake her up, because she had a rough day as well, completely different, from mine but still as rough. 

I went downstairs in my pyjamas to find something to eat, assuming I was the only one up.

I heard voices from the garden and saw Jake and Kade filming something, probably for today's vlog. I wanted to get back to the food-finding process, when Jake opened the door.

"Hey Esther, do you want to help us awake your boyfriend and the others?" he said.

I gave him a confused look, when I realised he referred to Chance. 

"Uhm, sure, what are you planning to do?"

"We want to throw water balloons through the open window." he answered excited like a little boy.

"Yeah, sure." I went outside greeting Kade with a smile. He smiled back and devoted himself to his camera again.

Jake talked to the camera explaining what was going to happen. He looked at me and nodded, I assumed that was the sign to tell me we were starting to throw the balloons.

As soon as the first balloons were through the window you could hear screams and cursing.

We continued throwing, when they stepped out of the room to throw the balloons, that didn't explode back at us.

"Hey, sleeping beauty!" I screamed at Chance, while throwing a balloon directly to his face.

Everyone laughed except Chance, he went back into the room. A few seconds later he was running towards us.

"You'll pay for this!" he shouted, remembering we wanted to use weird couple names from now on he added, "twinkle toes".

I had to try really hard so I wouldn't laugh out loud, however I thought I could top that.

"Even though you're my sweet honey bear" I said while cringing really hard, "I won't spare you from being hit with balloons." I could see he struggled to keep his face straight because of that name but he somehow managed it. He then took some of the balloons, making them explode over my head. I tried to throw some back at him, but I missed and hit Kade right behind him.

"The cameraman got hit!" he exclaimed while falling dramatically to the ground.

I went to help him up and as soon as our hands touched, there was that feeling again, that I had yesterday, but I still couldn't tell what it was.

When he was back on his feet, he looked me in the eyes and I couldn't resist looking back and not moving at all.

I felt how my cheeks heating up again, when Chance hit me with another balloon at the back of my head. I turned around, but Chance ran back inside, so I couldn't get him back and Jake left in-between because he was soaking wet and probably wanted to change.

I turned around to Kade, who was still looking at me and smiled.
