Lin's POV
Waking up next to Phillipa Soo is my favorite part of the day. I can't believe we we've been together for 4 months and haven't been on a single date. I planned to change that.
She had to cancel our plans for our last date because something came up, but I scheduled another one at a nice sushi restaurant and hopefully she'll enjoy it. Today is one of the few rare days where we don't have a show. Those days are also the best.
I get out of bed, quietly so I don't wake Sebastian, and start making breakfast- eggs and bacon.
I set 3 plates out for Pippa, Seb and I. I asked Leslie to take care of Sebastian while we are on our date. I glance at my coat pocket. Hopefully this goes well...
"Oh, Lin, you made breakfast," Pippa says from our bedroom doorway, holding Sebastian in her arms. "Thank you!" She gives me a kiss on the cheek and puts Seb in his high chair.
"So... I planned a date for us. I hope thats okay. Its at this nice sushi restaurant." I explain.
"Oh yeah sure. I'm not busy." She says as she finishes her breakfast and puts her plate away.

We sit in our seats and look at the menus in silence. I felt awkward, like I wanted to get the important part of this date out of the way and we could just be happy.
I decide to just make small talk. "So how was your day?"
"Great. I went to the mall with Jas so that was fun."
Another silence. Why was this so awkward? Did we really not have anything to talk about?
"So, uh, why did you have to cancel on the date last time?" I ask, desperate to make conversation. I felt responsible to actually have us speak to each other. It's weird because she has never been like this.
"Oh, Steven came over to our apartment and asked me if we could go to dinner to have a conversation about what happened at the wedding."
I freeze. Why didn't she tell me about this? Why would she agree to go on what was basically date with her ex?
"W-What? You went on a date with him?"
"No, no it wasn-"
"And you didn't even bother to tell me?!"
"I gues-"
"Seriously, you pretty much just went on a date with your ex when we were dating!" I stand up out of my chair to leave when I remember what was in my pocket.
"Oh yeah, I guess I should tell you about this." I put the small box onto the table and watch as she opens it.
When tear start to fall down her cheeks, I walk away.
