So...

Marines?

I must admit what they say is appealing and would make one consider it. I've read plenty of these before but never really gave it much thought as today.

I'm sure by now you're probably wondering if I'm considering to join the Marines.

Some of you might be surprised, others not so much.

Well, to be honest...

Let's see here. How do I say this?

No, Siree.

No, I'm not. I just got this in the mail and it cracks me up. Me?? A marine??

Imagine this.

Normal marine: "Okay, so this is the plan of action. We're gonna cut through this field, rather than this road and attack here..." (Sorry, don't totally know what Marines specifically do.)

Me as a marine: Um... hi. I'm here to... No, actually, I have no idea what I'm doing here. I'm lost. Must have made a wrong turn back there somewhere. Okie dokie. That's awkward. I'm just gonna hide over here in the corner. Thank you do your service by the way.

(And that's if I could even make it past physical training... Or really any basic boot camp... Which is a big "if"... Like the size of Texas... Or for that matter, the world. Lol)

People join and serve when they just become an adults.

Meanwhile, I push a pull door...

I overthink things.

I say awkward things.

Yeah, no. That wouldn't work out.

Okay, so here's the story:

We were coming home from a long day at the farmers market selling farm fresh eggs, starting in the early in the morning and a writing group meeting in the afternoon. Checked the mail and found this Marine recruitment flyer in the mail. (I had also gotten one a few months ago too.)

I laughed and told my mom about something that happened a year ago. (I know, it's random. Bear with me. Can't get around the title of this book though. XD)

I was making myself a sandwhich, when my dad walked in with once again the mail.

"(Insert my name here)! What is this?? A driver's license?"

It was our insurance company, saying that they will start charging my parents for my driving. I don't drive and made it clear that I have no desire, which I thought he already knew. But he continued this with a serious face, as if he didn't believe my story.

I mean really, the proof was there in his hands! I was beginning to doubt myself. Had gone out sleepwalking one night to get a drivers license I didn't even want??? At this point, I started to get really worried. Lol

Apparently, because I had gotten a ID a year prior for work, checking the database for my name when I turned 16 they saw my name in the database.

(Back to original story)

My mom joked, "(insert my name here) wants to join the Marines!" walking in the house with today's mail.

I laughed and said, "Yeah right."

My dad said, "What??"

I explained.
