S H A W N' S  P O V

"Is this seat taken?" I immediately stiffened at the sound of her voice, soon followed by the rolling of my eyes.

"It's a public bar." I spat. "I don't care where you sit." I tried my best to come off as cruel and uninterested. In reality, my heart was breaking all over again, just like every other time I saw her.

She sat on the stool next to me. She asked the waiter for a shot of bourbon before turning to me. A mischievious smirk plastered upon her beautiful face.

"So, Shawnie Boo, what have you been up to?"

"You should know."

"Excuse me? What's that supposed to mean?" She sneered. The fact that she tried to pull the 'I don't know what you're talking about' card annoyed me. Her general presence annoyed me.

I hated the fact that I fell in love with her, but what I hated even more was the fact that I still hadn't gotten over her. She knew that, and she used it to torment me.

"Oh please, cut the bullshit, Y/n. What do you want from me? You've been going around throwing dirt all on my name, cause you knew that I'd call you up."

She downed her shot. "I'm sorry Shawn. I just thought that would be the only way to get you to notice me. I miss you. I want you back."

A scoff slipped from my lips. "Just leave me alone. I already told you I want nothing to do with you. Yet you still keep going around every party in L.A. ; hoping I turn up at one, so you could try to manipulate me once again. Quite frankly, I think you should find some better tricks. I'm over it."

Her petite hands ran through my brown hair. I already knew what she was trying to do. She was trying to make me feel bad for her. This is how it goes every time. She shows up in a little red dress and tries to make me feel some sort of regret. She was a temptress, a snake.

"I know you miss me too. What we had. It was real, Shawn."

"Y/n?" I dropped my jacket as I opened the door. Walking into the kitchen and grabbing a glass of water. There was no sign of my girlfriend anywhere. This was unusual, as she was always waiting for me when I got home.

I walked upstairs into my home studio, sitting down and playing the melody to a new song I was working on. I started to hum the lyrics, beginning to get lost in the music.

"Boo." A soft voice whispered in my ear. I jumped slightly, before turning around and coming face to face with Y/n.

"There's my pretty girl." She smiled and I pulled her into my lap.

"Hey there." She kissed my cheek, resting her head on my chest. "Watcha' doing?"

"Working on this new song. where were you?"

She stiffened, clearing her throat. "Oh, I went to the store. We were out of ice cream." I hummed in response, burying my face into her neck and taking in her scent.

  She smelt...different.

"Why do you smell like that?"

  "Like what?" She looked down.

  "Like cologne."

"It's yours. I was wearing your jacket."

I sniffed her again. "No, I'm pretty sure I don't have this scent."

"Oh." She chuckled dryly. "It probably got sprayed on me while I was in the store. You know how those annoying ladies in the fragrance department are always spraying stuff."

I nodded, figuring that there was nothing to worry about. "Yeah, right. Sorry I'm acting weird."

She kissed me, laughing. "It's fine silly. Now, can you play that song for me?"

-

"Real? You cheated on me - several times, actually - and I was too stupid to realize."

A frown made it's way onto her face. "I'm sorry, Shawn. I really am. Just give me another chance, please. Give me your heart again."

"Yeah I'm not falling for that again. See, I've learned something about you. You want attention. You don't love me, nor do you regret doing what you did. You're just setting a trap, trying to see if I'll fall for it."

I thought about how she took my love for granted, leading me on while I was nothing but faithful to her. "You're just making sure I'm never getting over you."

"But I-"

"Save it, Y/n, because guess what? I have."

I stood up and slapped a twenty on the counter, putting on my jacket and storming out of the nightclub.
