  S H A W N ' S P O V

The smell of something sweet filled my nostrils, waking me from my sleep. My eyes pried open slowly. I looked to my left, not seeing Y/n sleeping next to me. A small smile spread over my face. She was cooking.

I sat up, running a hand through my hair. I groaned inwardly as the messy curls fell right back into my face. I grabbed my phone off of the nightstand to check the time. When I powered it on a picture of Y/n flashed across my lock screen. It was from the day we met. I thought she was beautiful, so I tried to take a picture of her without her noticing. She caught me of course.

"If you're going to take a picture of me at least be a little more inconspicuous, stranger." I looked up from my phone. The pretty girl stared at me, her eyebrow raised in amusement. I pulled off my sunglasses.

"Oh, um. I'm sor- you're just- pretty." I could feel my cheeks heating up in embarrassment. I began scratching the back of my neck, something that I did when I was nervous.

Nice one, Shawn.

She laughed. Her smile was gorgeous. Is this what love at first sight feels like?

"Thanks, you're not too bad on the eyes yourself." She stood up, walking over to my table and sitting down. "What's your name?"

"Uhh..."

Fuck, what was my name? Why couldn't I remember my name?

She continued to smile, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Nice to meet you 'Uhh', I'm Y/n."

Gosh, even her name was beautiful. I had no chance with her. She probably thought I was some stalker, sitting in the mall food court by myself taking pictures of her, and not to mention the sunglasses.

"No. My name is-"

"Is that Shawn Mendes?!" Shit. I turned to my right. Seeing two teenage girls pointing at me. Y/n noticed as well.

"So I'm guessing you're Shawn Mendes?" She asked.

I stood up, not wanting to be ambushed by fans in public. I put my sunglasses back on. "Yea, that would be me. Look, you're really pretty, and I'd love to get to know you, but I have to go."

I jogged off, stopping in my tracks after a few seconds. I turned around, she was still watching me.

Fuck it, now or never.

I jogged back over to her, scribbling down my number on a napkin quickly. "Call me."

She smiled. "Sure thing, rockstar."

I walked into the kitchen, seeing Y/n taking something out of the oven. She had her back to me and her earbuds were in, her head bopping slightly to whatever she was listening to.

I leaned against the door frame, silently watching her. The way she danced around was so cute. Her hips swayed to the music, making me fall in love with her even more, if that was even possible.

She turned around, jumping slightly once she saw me. Her startled expression was quickly replaced by a huge smile. She placed the tray on the counter to cool and removed her earbuds.

"Good morning, gorgeous." She walked up to me, placing a sweet kiss on my lips. I grabbed her by the waist, deepening the kiss. I rested my forehead against hers once we pulled away. "Jesus, Shawn. Did you miss me?" She joked.

I nodded. "I don't like waking up without you being there."

"I'll always be here." She stroked my cheek softly, making my eyes flutter shut in content. "I made us some cinnamon rolls, and I was thinking we could stay in all day and watch Christmas movies in our pj's. Unless you have to go to the studio or something."

I shook my head. "Nope, no work for the rest of the week. I'm all yours."

I loved this woman. I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life, and today I was going to seal our forever.

"And staying in all day with you sounds wonderful. Let's just go get some blankets out of the closet." I told her, trying to get her to walk down the hallway.

"Sure." She began to walk down the hall. I followed behind her closely. Fumbling nervously with the little box that was in my pocket.

Once she made it to the arch under our stair case I stopped her. "Oh, would you look at that. look up." She stopped dead in her tracks, her head peering up at the mistletoe that hung.

She began to giggle. I dropped down on one knee, pulling the box out. "Now you have to kiss me, gorgeous. Turn around."

"You're such a dor- Shawn.." She turned around, seeing me down on my knee. Her hands reached up to cover her mouth.

A chuckled nervously. "Y/f/n, I knew from the moment that I saw you in that mall that i wanted to be with you. I'm glad you caught me taking pictures of you because otherwise I would've never talked to you. Gosh, I'm so nervous. Is it hot in here?"

The both of us burst into laughter. I continued, "Words can't even describe how I much I love you, I swear. You're perfect in my eyes. I love how kind and understanding you are. I love your laugh. God, that laugh. It makes me happy. Even happier than when I'm making music, and that's a lot.

I'm so grateful for you. You've gotten me through tough times, and you've handled this fame thing so well. I know it can get hard when I'm away sometimes, but Y/n I swear to you there's no one else I would rather spend my life with. You're my soul mate, so this is my way of promising you forever. I just need you to say yes. Marry me."

I opened the box, flashing the diamond ring. My hands were shaking like crazy, and I was pretty sure that I was crying.

Y/n had tears streaming down her face. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She simply dropped down to her knees and kissed me. It was the most passionate, loving kiss we've ever shared.

I pulled away, taking her hand and sliding the ring on her finger. She was going to be my wife.

She stared in awe, wiping away her tears. "Forever." She whispered.

"Forever."
