"Okuda! Okuda! Stop playing games! Damn it Okuda!"

Earlier that day

It was the morning, more people died right in front of us. I couldn't bare to watch, I just hid behind the bushes and trees, listening to their screams and cries of fear. I wanted to just hide forever and cry. But I couldn't do it, especially now.

"Get down!" Kayano whispered. We all fell flat to the ground, we all gripped our weapons, ready to fight back. Okuda was shaking like a leaf. She breathed heavily which was making it harder for us to hide. Karma was ready.

Kayano peeked then sighed with relief. "We're good...."

We all sat up and looked around. "I'm sorry Okuda, I really should have thought twice before throwing a fit." I apologized with a slight smile. She shook her hands rapidly and her head. "No, no! I'm fine! Just a bit nervous! Plus you did do it to save Karma's life. So no need to apologize!" . Kayano crouched beside Okuda, and looked at us all with a serious look. Telling us to pay attention. "Listen, by now people probably already know to get to us, they are probably finding a plan to attack as we speak, so we need to evacuate."

Karma chuckled. "Where did you get a thought like that?". She looked at him straight in the eye. "I overheard last night while you guys were asleep, a group knows where we are planning to attack at night." She responded.

I scooted close to her to hear more clearly, "What time?", I asked. She looked back at me, near seven, so we have to leave at six. Understand? Relax for a bit, then we swap places." We all nodded at the same time, understanding he orders.

6:58

"Ready?" Kayano asked. We all nodded, ready to go. Kayano stood up, and looked around. We stayed behind. "Why are you leading us Kayano?"
She looked back and waved her hand, gesturing to come to her. "Because I know where we are going Karma~!" She whispered with an annoyed tone.

We reached open area. We were about to step out, but Kayano gasped, grabbed my hand, shoving me down with her. As Karma, and Okuda knelt down, Kayano put her figure to her lips. Then I heard the footsteps she had heard get louder. We looked through the bush, noticing a group rushing to our camp. I was shaking in misbelieve.
She was right about the group.... I thought, horrified. I then felt a warm hand cover mine. I looked behind me and it was Karma trying to calm me down. He nodded at me assuring I was okay. I nodded back and took a deep breath as I looked forward. Once it was clear we all ran forward to the other side of the forest.

We slowed down and watched our surroundings, until I felt my ankle lean on a small wire, pulling on a bell. Everybody looked at me, I flushed in complete embarrassment. "Don't just stand there! Run! Go!" Karma ordered.

We all ran together, hoping we were getting further away from the person who heard us.  My heart jumped as I heard Asano's voice he laughed and laughed at us as we ran. It got louder. I wanted to scream from fear but it would attract more people. "Head for the gate, hurry!" I shouted. I felt myself slide back and felt my body hit the ground. I blacked out for a moment, everybody was shouting. I could faintly hear Okuda screaming her lungs out.

I opened my eyes and my hearing slowly revived, I looked up seeing Karma holding me up. As soon as I could see clearly, I noticed Kayano in a net, high up dangling from a tree. Karma helped me regain balance. "Nagisa! Are you okay? Don't scare me like that again!" He stated. He helped me back up.

Kayano clung to the net tightly, terrified. Okuda was crying and screaming, giving away our position. "Shhh! Okuda! I'm fine! Look I'm still alive! See? Okuda calm down your too loud! Shhh!" Kayano said sternly to Okuda, wanting to calm down her cries. But she couldn't help it, she couldn't hold it back anymore, she had to let it all off her chest.

"Karma!" Kayano began. Karma looked up and payed attention. "Take Nagisa and Okuda to the gate, its right there, see? It isn't far so just run! I'll catch up!" Karma nodded then gripped my wrist tight. "Come Okuda."

Okuda hesitated but she had finally stopped crying and began to run. As we ran I looked back, watching Kayano struggle to find a way to free herself. I then looked at Okuda who was rubbing her eyes. "Keep going, we're almost there. I promise I'll get us out of here."

He gripped my wrist tighter, being sure I was right behind him. We were right there when we heard Okuda collapse with a shriek. We looked back. She was still on the floor, bleeding with a knife in her shoulder. My eyes widened and my heart raced. Karma raced to her. "Okuda! Okuda! Stop playing games! Damn it! Okuda!" He shook her, trying to wake her up. But she was already dead. His hands tightened into a fist, he was completely angry with himself. We looked up and noticed Asano walking up to us. He held something, like a body. It was Kayano.

"I found this thing in my trap. It isn't what I was looking for but it made good bait for one of my other traps!" He looked at us with a grin. "I believe that one of your friends wanted this..." he then threw Kayano to the ground. "Don't worry, I just hit her with a sleep dart." Then he noticed Okuda. "Awww is she dead already? What a shame! I thought she would get to see her friend again before she died. But I guess she was too weak, maybe I was too harsh...." he wondered. They lay there together. Then Asano cleared his throat. "Welp! Have fun trying to escape! You could just run, but it isn't easy leaving them, now is it?" Karma snickered. "I can just carry Kayano. Easy!"

Asano turned around with a slight grin of satisfaction. "Are you sure you can leave her friend here? Plus if you carried both, it's already hard with two, can't imagine three..."

                                                              Karma's POV

I thought I had won the argument. But he had thrown his knife at Nagisa. My heart jumped and I tried to shove him away in time, but lucky I shoved him to where it only sliced him in the side, I still hate myself how I let that happen. "Nagisa!" I knelt beside him as he fell to his knees. The wound was bleeding fast. Damn...., I had to hurry up so Nagisa doesn't bleed out, and carry them all. I held my head, trying to think of an idea. I I held Nagisa, he had fainted already. My heart pounded, I have never been this scared in my life. I gripped on Kayano's wrist and shoved Okuda with my foot. I sighed as I felt a tear roll down my face. I wanted Nagisa to wake up, I made this all happen. I just want Nagisa to make it out safe.

I ran as fast as I could to the gate. As I finally reached the gate. I sighed with relief. I was so happy we had made it out safe. "We made it out guys...." I whispered to them, acting like they could hear me. I let them go after I found an area far away from the gate, I sat down and ripped off my sleeve to use it to stop Nagisa's wound from bleeding. Then I silently waited for them to wake up.

8:30

I then saw Nagisa, waking up. My heart raced with happiness. "Nagisa!"

He slowly sat up, "Huh? What? Where am I?- Ah!" He flinched from the pain, then rested his arms on me for support to sit up. I brushed my hand through his hair. I smiled and let tears fall down my face. Nagisa watched in shock. "Karma! Your crying!" I nodded "I'm just so happy your okay..." I sniffled and softly cried. Then Kayano sat up rubbing her eyes. "Where are we?" Then she suddenly woke up. "Where are we? Did something happen? Did we make it?" We nodded, then I glance at Okuda. I bit my lip. "What is it? Did something happen? Wh-Where is Okuda?" She asked. Then she looked around and then she noticed Okuda, laying down in the grass. She slowly walked on her knees towards her, then she plopped down beside her. "O-Okuda... Minami...."

Then she suddenly burst out bawling. I looked down, unable to watch. It was all my fault. "Okuda!!!!!!!!" She screamed. She leaned on her and cried "I'm sorry Okuda!!! I'm so sorry!!!! I broke my promise! Please forgive me! I'm sorry for leaving you! I should have done something about it! I'm so sorry!" She cried. She bawled and screamed apologies. Nagisa didn't do anything. He leaned his head on my arm.  I wrapped my arms around Nagisa. "I should have done a better job... I'm so sorry I dragged you all into this..." I said. I cried softly. My heart shattered. "Karma..." Nagisa muttered softly.

I hugged Nagisa tight. Before we knew it, we were all crying and apologizing.
