We all calmed down. Kayano was still on distress about her beloved Okuda. We all were puffy eyes from crying and our throats were sour from screaming apologies. I glanced behind my shoulder time-to-time. Karma nudged my shoulder, "what? You worried little pumpkin spice back there followed us out here?"
I smiled. "N-No..., I just feel bad we are leaving everybody behind, but we're dragging a dead body along."
Karma looked at Kayano than at me. "Okuda was her love I guess. I guess she loved her more than she thought. You can say she was her Nagisa to her Karma." Then Karma winked at me with a smile. I just blushed. "W-Why is that an example? We aren't even lovers!" I exclaimed. Karma chuckled a bit. "Neither were they."
"But Kayano and Okuda had a stronger relationship. We hated each other at first!" I said. Karma gave a weird look. "Wanna make our relationship stronger?" He asked. I felt my face getting all red. My heart raced. "N-No! I-! I would never-..... maybe...." I stuttered nervously. Karma smiled. "Did you know I love you?"
I froze for a split second. "Well that was straight forward!" I muttered under my breath. Then Karma continued. "I wanna kiss you so much your lips fall off. I wanna hug you so tight you never wanna leave my comfort." He confessed shamelessly. "What the hell? You call that comforting? Now your making me think again before wanting to kiss you." I teased.
"So you did at first?" He replied as he lifted his arms to lean in his on them.
There was only one word that went on in my head, shit.
I sighed cause there was nothing I could say back. Then I cleared my throat. "Maybe we should talk about this near Kayano, she has been walking with us this whole time." I excused. He shrugged. "Pfft, she's been silent and hasn't said for us to stop, if we made out right now she would t care." He explained. "As if. Plus it would be rude. She would care cause she lost her, uhhh, one and only." I replied.
Then Karma stopped and faced me. "Wanna test and see for ourselves?"
I shook my head rapidly. "No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No!"
Then we began to walk ahead again. "Sorry to slow you down Kayano, we know you wanna be home as soon as possible." I apologized to Kayano with a gentle smile. My smile said, I'm sorry I couldn't save her. Then she looked at me with a frown, " Thank you, you aren't any trouble." Her frown said, you did the best you could do.
I still can't forgive myself for that.
Time skip
We finally arrived at Kayano's mansion. She invited us inside to discuss what happened to her father.
"Hmmm, is that so?" Mr. Kadeem said while leaning back in his chair while scratching his head. We all nodded. "Well I'm glad you are safe. And thank you for taking good care of Kayano for me, I don't know what I would have done if I had lost her like her sister."
We smiled. I'm glad I had finally earned his trust. "And Nagisa." He began while turned towards me in his chair. "Sir." I replied. He smiled. "I can see you have changed, your smiling much more often and you and Akabane get along very well. Would you and Akabane like to stay here and live with us?" He offered. I shook my head, declining the offer. "No thanks, I'll live in my old home where me and my mother lived with Karma. Thank you though."
He nodded, understanding. "I see. Well I hope you too have a happy life together. Be sure to arrive here tomorrow for Kayano's friend's funeral. I bet she would want you there as well." I nodded. "Thank you, we'll be there tomorrow."
Then Karma and I went home to start a new life. "Did you just propose to me basically?" Karma asked teasingly. I sighed. I didn't respond cause I guess I kinda did. I couldn't deny it.
