Chapter 3: Game Time or Game Of Thrones?
I sat in the caf., today I was smart and brought a packed lunch not wanting to run into another someone again. I pulled out my good old fashioned PB&J, today had been good so far, I got my locker open and it only took me two tries, my first three period teachers assigned barely any homework. Ahh thank god for Fridays. As I waited for Amy and Summer to get out of their Spanish test, I watch the cheerleaders who wear sporting their costumes today in favour of tonight's game. It wasn't even that important, except tonight they were playing Hillside one of their rivals, who cares shouldn't we be promoting peace and not brawling for a trophy? Plus the tickets were 10 bucks and I had something better to spend it on, that's right a triple fudge sundae. I have my priorities straight. Posters hung on the hall they were themed in our school colours burgundy and yellow, wait I mean gold around here you get scrutinized for saying yellow even though the shade on the jersey's is clearly yellow not gold.
"Lost in you own thoughts?" I looked up to see Scott, a.k.a the guy I had a major crush on. Even though Scott played for the team he wasn't a knuckle head, he was funny and he volunteered a lot, so much that even the biggest human rights activist would walk in shame. He ruffled in black hair and his eyes when the sun hit them shimmered a perfect hazel colour.
"April did you hear me?"He asked
"What oh yeah, sorry." I blushed god I was so hopeless.
"All by yourself?" Summer and Amy were leaving me stranded, it must look pretty pathetic sitting at a table all by yourself.
"Apprently, my friends are finishing their test."
"That sucks, I'd invite you to sit with me, but I know you and Isaac would tear eachother apart," Scott laughed, oh that laugh made me want to swoon. "What are you up to tonight?"
"Nothing much." I said shrugging, lies, in fact I was planning a Game Of Thrones marathon, alone, just me and a bucket of ice cream. I obviously didn't want to say that, gosh how lame would that make me.
"You should come to the game!"Scott exclaimed
"Uhhh I don't know."
"Come on you never do, I need your support!"
I didn't want to, like no way I needed to catch up on my show "Fine, but don't get mad if I fall asleep." I smiled, god I was weak, I could've said no and that would be that, now I'd actually have to wach guys roll around on the ground in order to get a ball, talk about fun times.
'Awesome! See you later April." Scott smiled and ran off to join the rest of his gang. Fantastic, I, April Haynes had got herself into a bad situation, like always. When Amy and Summer arrived with 5 minutes left to scarf down their food I told them the news, guess what instead of showing sympathy, they laughed. Jerks. I hoped Scott hadn't told Isaac that I was planning to come to the game, Isaac would make it seem like I stalked him. Only he could do that.
I was thankful for art class last period, Home ec. wasn't fun, we spent the entire period talking about nutrition and processed food. Whether Lucky Charms is bad for you I'm still going to eat it. In art we were working on our sketches of the models, don't worry they weren't they weren't nude, I don't even know why you'd even want to sketch someone's junk. We would soon paint them and I wasn't pumped for that. The models were students here who got paid for this, I tried to persuade Scott to do it but he blushed and said he didn't like posing half naked in front of an entire class. I would love it if he did, I probably wouldn't get anything done except a drool stain on my art book.
The bell rang shaking me from my daydream of Scott modelling. I quickly shoved my books in my bag, I was free, free as a bird. For like 2 days, which I'd be spending in my room watching tv. I'm such a rebellious teen. I decided to walk home, the game was at 4 so I had an hour to pass, I had forced Amy and Summer to join me at the game. They weren't impressed. Walking home allowed me some time to relax, the April weather was so nice, I stuck in one of my headphones and started to sing along.
