Chapter 5: Dress Shopping, More Like Torture

My phone rang, normally I'd be eager to pick it up, but it was 10, I don't wake up at 10 on Saturaday mornings.

"What?" I said grumpily, I hoped this wasn't my nana, or else I would be receiving my 20 bucks this year.

"April Haynes get your butt outta bed we are going shopping!!!" Summer exclaimed

"I am not in bed, I am awake and doing stuff."

"We know April Haynes and on Saturday's she wakes up at 12." We, that meant Amy was with her too.

"It's my code, whhy aren't you following it?" I groaned, my bed was so warm and outside ugh, I don't wanted to get started on the outside.

"Because we need dresses for the party!"

"I didn't think it was formal."

"Scott said that girls can wear dresses if they want to, he doesn't care," Summer exclaimed "Come on I bet Scott would die if he saw you in a dress."

"I think anyone would die from being blinded by my white legs."

"Your legs aren't white, they are tanned liar."

"Fine I'm getting up, where are you?"

"Outside your house in my car, so hurry up." Summer exclaimed hanging up.

I rushed outside my hair tied in a bun, again, I had put on zero makeup and probably looked like I had been running through bushes, my hair was a frizzy mess. Summer rolled her eyes at my "I just woke up" look, I shrugged I was ahead of the fashion trends gosh. I jumped into the backseat, least favourite spot. I wasn't eager to go shopping after what happened last night, I had made a list of how Isaac was a horrible person making my hatred for him fill me up again. Ahhh at least that was back to normal.

The mall was packed, first of all I hate malls, it gets way to hot and sweaty not pleasant. I walked behind Amy and Summer as they lead the way parading around different dress shops, personally I don't do sparkles. By the third shop I wanted to throw myself in a pool of burning hot tar.

"Guys I'm going to the food court I'll meet you back here in 5." Before the could protest I dashed off in need for food. I had missed breakfast and well if they had kept me there I would've thrown a temper tantrum any 2 year old would be amazed by. I skunked into the line at Smoothie Bar, thank god a Starbucks was beside it so more people would go there than here. I personally don't see the appeal in over priced coffee not that I even like coffee.

"Didn't except you to be here." I turned around, my eyes wide then let out a sigh. Isaac.

"What are you doing here?" I questioned

"Public place I don't need a reason."

"Whatever nice seeing you bye." I turned away, he could never just answer me.

"What are you doing here."

"Dress shopping."

"At Smoothie Bar, didn't know they sold dresses."

"Hahaha you're an idiot."

"Why are you dress shopping."

"Don't assume I want to but Amy and Summer have insisted on getting a dress for Scott's party."

"I'm excited to see you in a dress, remember my favourite colour is red." And Isaac left. He didn't even have to talk to me what do I have a sign on my back saying: THIS GIRL LOVES TALKING TO CONCEITED JERKS. My phone buzzed it was Amy telling me do get my butt over to the dress shop because Summer was freaking out. So much for my smoothie. Ah I was greeted by a panicked faced Amy and could hear the faint hyperventilating sound of Summer.

"I'm here what's the crisis?"

"Summer doesn't know Adrian's favourite colour!" Amy exclaimed, wow that was what I missed my smoothie for.

"That's it?"

"Well no, I told Summer I'd ask him, so I started texting him and she flipped out, she thinks that I'm hitting on him because I have his number."

Classic Summer, she always over analysis stuff. I sighed since when did I sign a friendship contract stating that I miss out on breakfast to help with boy drama. I snuck into the change room and Summer sat on the small bench, no tears but a lot of sniffling. That was Summer she refused to cry in front of people.

"Boy troubles?" I asked, man I sucked at comforting people it was so awkward I don't know if she is in a laughing mood or not. She looked up a sad look on her face

"Maybe..."

"Listen I already got the story from Amy, you shouldn't worry about it after all she is getting his favourite colour out of him and imagine you tomorrow showing up at Scott's in a stunning dress in Adrian's favourite colour you will be sure to get his number plus you know Amy would never try and take your crush away from you." I blurted out, hopefully this was an A+ response. It was quiet and I crossed my fingers behind my back. 1 second, 2,3,4-

"I guess you are right but you need to improve on you counselling skills."

I laughed way to hard, Amy poked her head in "Is everything good?" Summer and I nodded.

"Well Adrian's favourite colour is blue which means you have a large variety of options."

"What colour dress are you going in?" I asked Amy, she didn't like anybody that I knew of so her options were wide.

"I dunno whatever fits," She shrugged "What colour are you wearing April, because you should wear red it's Scott's favourite colour."

Crap. Why did Scott have to like the same colour Isaac did, I swear god had it out for me. "That's Isaac's favourite colour." I frowned, Amy laughed and Summer held back, you can clearly see who was the better friend.

"Who cares, after all I shouldn't care about Isaac I like Scott and if he likes the same colour whatever I will be spending more of my time with Scott." I huffed, red was a colour no one could claim ownership to it. Amy and Summer nodded in agreement. And well we went hunting for dresses.

I collapsed on my bed tired out and hungry, a nap couldn't hurt right?
