Chapter 6: Cheap Booze and Loud Music a.k.a A Party
I just wanted to sleep, but apparently my mom had other ideas,
"April your friends are here aren't you supposed to be in your dress not your pj's?"
"Tell them I'm sick."
"If you aren't going can I take your place maybe I scope out some hotties!"
"Moooom ew! Fine I'm getting up!" I threw off the covers and shook my head trying to get rid of the image of my mom and Scott kissing, barf. My mom ran down the stairs chuckling at herself. I grabbed the dress it was, bright red with white daisies. Amy had pressured me to buy heels I had gone with strappy black ones. I threw in my earrings, I checked the time, shit we had 5 minutes the party started at 8. Oh well no time to mess around with my hair, I tied it in a bun an swipes on my usual makeup. I ran down the stairs heels in hand.
"Oooh looking nice who's the special boy?" My mom asked she looked me up and down will stirring the cookie dough. I was jealous of her multitasking I could only multitask while doing my homework.
"No one." I smiled, I couldn't tell my mom my crush or else she would set up an interrogation.
"Sure....Amy and Summer are in the car so skidaddle!"
Man oh man, they were going to kill me. I ran out barefoot and jumped into the front seat. Score. I strapped in my shoes and fixed my hair.
"Sorry I'm late I fell asleep." I smiled, Summer scowled at me, she looked awesome in her strapless navy blue and white striped dress paired with oxfords.
"Your makeup and hair! Seriously April." Amy rolled her eyes, she proved a point her hair was curled and her makeup was sparkly and made her green eyes pop.
"Yeah well next party I'll do it up."
The rest of the ride was us blaring music and me throwing my arms out of the sunroof, Summer scolded me before I could stick my head out. Party pooper. Summer pulled into the driveway, there was music playing but it looked quiet, was this a low key party?
"Why is it dead?" I asked
"We're helping set up!" Amy explained and before I could protest she dragged me inside. Let's say Scott's house was massive like wowza! Compared to his house I lived in a shack, there was a massive living room where Theo and Adrian were sitting, Summer went over there while Amy and I went to go find Scott. We walked into the kitchen, it looked so polished the fridge was giant. Beer was stacked on the table, the classic red cups stacked, Scotts iPod hooked up playing The Black Keys. Scott was pouring himself some beer and none other than Isaac was rustling around in the fridge.
"Hey April! You look nice." Scott smiled, he wore jeans and a short I was jealous.
"Thanks, you have a massive house!" I exclaimed
Scott blushed "Thanks my parents are gone for the weekend so I have the place to myself." Amy grabbed herself a beer and Isaac jumped up onto the counter.
"Do you want a drink?" Scott asked, he held out a beer, I shook my head.
"Do you have anything non-alcoholic?" I asked
"Yeah I brought some pop, do you want ginger ale?" Isaac asked
"Uh yeah sure."
"It's in the garage give me a second." Isaac smiled, why the heck was he being so nice?
"I'm going to go see Theo." Amy exclaimed leaving Scott and I alone.
"I think you look good in red, it's not even my favourite colour." Scott chuckled, wait it wasn't?
