If Only You Knew (Fruits Basket)

Chapter 9: New Cat in the Block

*Bling* *bling*

I snap my head to every sparkle I see gleam in the kitchen.

"Are those stars I see shining?"

While I am caught up by how fast we cleaned (Tohru's did most of the cleaning, but we couldn't have been done without my dishwashing skills) She strikes a super man pose.

"And that's that!" She exclaims as snaps off her bandana.

Destiny runs in with a mop behind her.

"IM HERE TO HELP!" She states, proudly raising the mop above her head. She looks around and see that it is clean already. "Well, I see we are done cleaning already. Nice job team!"

I have tick marks on my forehead and am about to trample on Destiny when Yuki walks in.

"Amazing. If I didn't have known any better I'd think I walked into the wrong house." He says taking a look around.

"I know, huh. We did a good job." Destiny says as Tohru and I give her a glare. Albeit I didn't do as much work as Tohru, but I did something right?!

"Freeloader" I say under my breath, which in response she sticks out her tongue at me.

"Since when did we have a rice cooker?" Yuki asks walking up to the mechanism.

"I found it in the trash!" Tohru says sliding towards Yuki in beaming as bright as her usual yellow surrounding light. "Oh I hope you have an appetite because lunch is almost ready."

We all sit around the table eating food Tohru had made which is actually really good. Destiny was to busy shoving her mouth to actually say anything. I guess doing nothing makes you have a big appetite.

"This is delicious." Yuki says savoring the food before him.

I nod in agreement while Dest tries to talk with her stuffed mouth. I smack the back of her head, causing her to "choke" which goes ignored by everyone else dismissing it as Dest being dramatic.

"Really? You don't think it's bland?" Tohru asks shyly.

"It's perfect. The best lunch I have ever had." Yuki shines her a winning smile to convince her, but Tohru still doesn't believe him. "That reminds me. I wonder where Shigure and that stupid cat ran off to."

"Now that I think about it. Yuki never says Kyo's name. He always refers to him as stupid cat or you..." I chew on my food while I ponder on that thought.

"I don't know. He said they'd be back by lunch time." Tohru says.

"Well shame on them. It's rude to let a meal this good get cold." Yuki states as he moodily shoves food into his mouth.

It's strange. It still haven't gotten used to the idea of living here, but here I am, having lunch with Yuki.

I flinch when Tohru's thought invade my head making Dest send me a confused look before dismissing it and going back to eating. Hearing her thoughts makes me wonder how much time it will take for me to either get tired of this, which would be right about now, or go insane, also right now.

"I have to figure out how to block this out along with her distracting halo color."

While I try to figure out of ways to do this, Yuki and Tohru are talking about a secret base going there next time, while Dest stuffs her face with food.
