As promised, i woke up early and got ready to go work at the school. I stood in front of my closet, debating on what to wear. I wanted to look professional but then again i don't like wearing heels and dresses and skirts everyday like most girls. I stood there for another five minutes before finally giving in and deciding on a dark blue dress that went mid-thigh and sleeves that were up to my elbows. The dress wasn't tight but it wasn't loose, it fit perfectly enough to show my curves. I matched it with a pair of black heels. After i took a shower, I dried my hair and then curled it into loose curls. I did my makeup and walked downstairs, only to be met by Allison in her pajamas and my parents in normal clothes.
"Good morning sweetheart, you look gorgeous!" Victoria said while looking me up and down with a smile.
"Thanks! You don't think it's too much?" I gave her an unsure smile.
"Of course not, you're beautiful no matter what you wear." Chris spoke with a smile. I raised an eyebrow at them all, confused about their odd behavior.
"Okay?" I replied; over exaggerating the okay. "So, where's Gerard? School starts in two hours." I said, looking at the time on the stove.
"He left to go to school already." Allison said.
"Oh, well okay then i guess i have to go. See you two later and i will see you at school." I said pointing to Allison and laughing.
"Okay, have a good day."
"Your car keys are on the table by the door." Chris and Victoria said in unison. I was so glad that Gerard had one of his men drive my car down here, i don't know what i would do without it, it was my baby.
When i walked outside with the keys in my hand, i saw the familiar dark blue Camaro sitting in the driveway. Kate got me this car for my eighteenth birthday because she knew it was all i wanted, and I've had it ever since. I got in my car, and breathed in the familiar scent that i had missed way too much. Being in the car and smelling the scent reminded me of home, of Kate. I try not to think about her too much because then, i get all emotional. I shook all those thoughts out my head and threw my bag in the back seat and started heading towards the school.
After fifteen minutes, i finally pulled into the school's parking lot. Thanks to Allison's directions i only got lost once. When i finally got out the car, I noticed Gerard's car and a few others. I walked up the front steps and into the school. The first thing i noticed was all the lockers and how big the school was. I actually missed being in high school, all my friends, cheerleading, and sports. I had to let that all go because of Kate; she told me that they were distractions. The sound of footsteps drew me out of my thoughts; i turned around and saw Gerard walking down the hall. He finally noticed me and opened up his arms as he walked up to me. When he reached me, he embraced me in a hug, which was weird considering that he's never done it before.
"I'm glad you made it. First day at work. How about i show you around school and then to your office hmm?" He said once he let me go.
"Sure." I said giving him my best smile.
This was the first time i have officially talked to him face-to-face since the whole thing happened that night in the woods so it was kind of awkward. I followed Gerard around the school as he showed me every part of it and then into what, I'm guessing, was the office.
"So this is my office-" He pointed to a room off to the side with the door closed. "The principal's office. And yours is just right through that door." He said while pointing at the door that was on the left of his office.
