Once upon a time there was a man. He used to have a sister but she disappeared shortly after her birth. The boy was young but he didn't let his age stop him from looking in every nook and cranny hoping to someday find his beloved sister. The boy had never gotten the chance to meet her but his love for her was stronger than steal.
As the years passed his mother if he could even call her that, shipped him off to an orphanage. She wanted to look for her daughter and her son only got in the way.
The boy was lonely, he had nobody to talk to. The children in the orphanage were mean to him but that wasn't a problem.
The boy had many dreams such as finding his sister and earning a friend. He had never had a friend.
Many years of his life were spent in that awful place.
The walls used to be blue but so much dirt covered them that they were now a greyish black colour. The once white toilets were now yellow and the kitchen was infested with rats and insects.
The boy was the oldest orphan residing in the orphanage. Most of the younger children wanted to be adopted but that wasn't the case with him. He would never accept another family. His only family was his baby sister and so it would be if he had anything to say about it.
The boy never went downstairs during visiting hours. It was the only way to make sure of not being adopted.
He had forgotten his birthday after not celebrating it since his sister's disappearance. He never really celebrated anything and he wouldn't celebrate anything until he was reunited with her. He needed her.
After spending many years at the orphanage, a man visited him. He had a long red beard and twinkling blue eyes.
The man told him of his magical heritage. Apparently, his mother had been a witch. It didn't matter to him. He didn't want to be a wizard but accepted the old man's offer of joining a Wizarding School named Hogwarts, in the hope of finding his sister. Surely there had to be some tracking spells he could learn and use.
During his stay at Hogwarts, he tried many spells but none were powerful enough. It seemed as if something was blocking her magical signature. There was, however, one spell called Livotio.
He managed to get access to the gaunt vault where he found a blood red locket. The ruby in the center was a powerful protection stone that could protect her from both magical and physical attracts. He copied his magical signature and put it on the locket so if he ever found her the locket would turn emerald green.
Using the Livotio spell he transported the necklace to his baby sister. It felt good knowing she had a part of him with her.
He could feel it when the necklace locked itself around her neck. She was alive. The spell wouldn't have worked if she wasn't. He was too happy to notice the tears pouring down his cheeks. His little sister was alive!
Hope blossomed in his chest. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance of finding her.
If only the boy had noticed the cold dark eyes watching him!
