A big forehead and fake looking hair were what Sakura Haruno was known for. People didn't believe it was possible to have pink hair by natural means and it wasn't. Sakura didn't know how but she could change the colour of her hair by pure will but she liked her pastel pink hair, even if people teased her for it.

Sakura lived in Konoha, isolated from modern society.

She didn't know much about her parents, only that the mistress of the orphanage had known the man who brought her in. The mistress didn't come by often which left the orphans to learn to fend for themselves. Everyone there knew how to cook, clean and to survive the streets.

Nobody cared for the dirty little street rats so it was necessary.

Most orphans ran away from the orphanage in order to live a better life. The orphanage wasn't any better than an abandoned house and there were countless abandoned houses in the darker parts of Konoha. The Aizen neighborhood was practically abandoned after the war, which left many houses destroyed. The Hokage, leader of the village, didn't care for the lesser people thus most of the houses weren't even repaired.

Most people saw Konoha as a peaceful village but when faces were turned, the village's true nature shone through the façade. Danger lurked in every corner and people were being murdered every day.

The murders that happened there were usually the ninja's of the village getting rid of dirt, as they liked to call it.

The rich people never ventured into Aizen because the ninjas didn't see the difference between rich and poor people. If people were in Aizen the ninja's would kill them, no matter their status, and nobody would care. But even if Aizen wasn't the brightest place, its inhabitants cared for one another.

If someone needed food, money or any other kind of help, it was gladly given but only to people of the Aizen.

Sakura like most of the other orphans had found an abandoned house located on the west side of the village, close to the training grounds and a dormant volcano. Many other houses of similar fashion surrounded the house and around the area was a high fence.

She had found the entrance by accident when she fell into a hole and came up at the other side of the fence. Sakura hadn't seen anyone else around the fenced neighborhood so she claimed it as hers.

It didn't take long for her to move into her new home. She didn't have many possessions, after all, only an emerald green locket that appeared on her second birthday. Sakura never took her locket off, not that she could. It was the only clue she had to her family. Even if they had abandoned her she still wanted to know their identities. They were, after all, her flesh and blood and she needed answers from them.

There were so many questions flooding through her mind every day that only they could answer.

Did she have any siblings?

Why did they leave her?

Why couldn't she use chakra?

Most people in her village could use chakra to bend the elements and enhance their physical strength but she couldn't do any of that.

Sakura could move things without touching them, make animals do what she wanted without training them. She could make bad things happen to people who hurt her. Her favourite ability, however, was talking to snakes. They found her and whispered things to her. She even used them as her little spies throughout the village and nobody suspected a thing.

If it hadn't been for her little and sometimes big snake friends she probably wouldn't have survived for as long as she had. They helped her steal and were her only friends. If it hadn't been for her snakes she would have surely turned insane.
