Chapter 5: New Years Eve
Joseph awoke to screaming downstairs in the living room. He’s only been out of the hospital for about two days and his family was already fighting over him. And that warmed his heart.
“I have to go to the frat party! There are going to be models there! MODELS! Mike yelled in furry. “ I can’t watch him!”
“We all have problems with Joseph,” Meredith sighed, “but, since I am in love with his father, you will have to put up with him until he is in high-school. Until he is far, far away in boarding school.” Well, maybe they weren’t fighting over him…
“Can I just bring him to the party and lock him in a closet or something.” They both laughed.
“You wish.” Meredith smirked. And that was the end of that. Joe really didn’t care if his family liked him anymore. Because he knew that no matter how much they hated him, they could never stop him from loving them.
“Good morning.” Joseph smiled as he walked into the living room with Mike and Meredith.
“Ug.” Meredith sighed while walking the opposite way Joe came. When Meredith was out of earshot, Mike whispered,
“Dude. We’re going to a party.”
“I thought you didn’t want to take care of me.”
“No man, I just said that to throw her off.” Mike laughed, “But really, you’re the happiest person in this messed up family. And we are going to rock this party so hard.”
Oh, Joseph liked the sound of that, “Am I too young?”
“Hell no! Annnd we’re gonna find you a new red head.” Mike winked as he ran up the stairs. “Oh! We leave at 9!” He shouted.
Joe had a new sense of confidence and was prepared to have an awesome time at his first New Year’s Eve party.

Joseph was dressed in a button down shirt with nice navy blue jeans. He jelled down his hair and looked like he was going to take school pictures.
“Perfect.” Mike said when looking at Joe. “Remember, when talking to the models make sure to mention my name as much as possible.” Joseph nodded in agreement. Then they grabbed their coats and hopped in the jeep. Joe was once again in high, happy spirits ready for this amazing opportunity. Not just be with the girls and watch fireworks, but also it was yet another way for him and Mike to bond. The best kind of bond, a brother bond.

As they walked into the neon lit dance house, a highly energetic blonde bounced up to Mike and Joe, handing them weird, small glasses filled with a bubbly, clear liquid. Mike quickly shot the drink down and started to talk with the blonde. Joe waited for someone to take him somewhere, but when Mike began to walk inside the house, he quickly chugged down the drink (which tasted less pleasant then he imagined) and scurried along into the shack. But when he entered, Mike was not in sight.
A sea of bodies moved around him, dancing to music that sounded like a bunch of robots killing each other. He began to wander around through the people, hoping to catch a glance of a familiar face. But he began to fill awfully dizzy and couldn’t quite focus on anything. He stumbled and tripped over his own feet, falling into the punch bowl and knocking it to the ground. Joseph had punch in his eyes and couldn’t see anything. So, he tried grabbing the nearest object to pull himself up. It happened to be a woman’s dress. And it came completely off.
“I’m sorry, I can’t see, there was a drink…” He stuttered as the girl screamed. Everyone was crowded around him, and while Joe was trying to find Mike, a man came and punched him. And that was lights out.
~
Joseph awoke to the sound of rumbling beneath him. He scrambled to get up, but there was a bag around him. Once he stopped freaking out, he found the zipper at the top of the bag, and unzipped the trap. It was a dark, compacted area filled with other bags. Joseph saw light coming from the roof. He quickly crawled to the square, and pushed open the door. Poking his head out, he realized that he was on a plane. But not just any plane.
The plane he had been smuggled onto was hijacked.
