It's been two days since Tyler came into my room and revealed the truth to me. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. In these past two days, I laid in bed running through scenarios in my head as to why someone would do this to me, and how it could benefit them. How could me being dead benefit anyone? I didn't know how I was going to get myself out of this situation, but Tyler said that he believed and that he would help me out of this situation. I barely know Tyler, but for some reason my instinct tells me to trust him. His hazel eyes held a lot of truth when he said he would help me.

The following day after our revelation, Cody came in at the night time to take my vitals. I took that opportunity to talk to him and to find out why he seemed so scared of me. I found out that he thought I was a demon who possessed a girl's body and morphed her face into looking like mine. I laughed so much at that, that I felt my ribs were on fire. But, it still felt good to laugh like that. I couldn't recall the last time I laughed so whole heartedly.

I just finished my dinner, and was passing my tray over to the nurse, when Tyler walked in. An instant smile appeared on my face. I don't know why but seeing Tyler and talking with him gave me a sense of peace and happiness. After he left from my room two days ago, I was craving for him to come back and just talk to me. I wouldn't have minded him holding me, but talking would be just fine as well.

"Hey," Tyler says as he holds the door open for the nurse to exit.

"Hi."

He closes the door behind him, and comes closer to my bed. Instead of sitting on the chair right next to my bed, he crouches down and sits next to me on the bed. He pushes my hair behind my ear causing me to stop breathing. When he realizes what he just did, he brings his hands back to his lap.

No don't stop.

"How was dinner?" he asks trying to ease the tension.

"It was...shi**y, but I'm not the type to complain." I smile.

That earns a cuckle out of him. But within a blink of an eye all humor leaves his eye, and is now filled with seriousness. "So I know I told you some crazy, unbelievable stuff to you just a few days back." I nod. "But there's a few more things I have to tell you."

I continue gazing at him to let him continue what he has to say. "Word spreads fast around here. My commander found out about you, and well-," he begins to rub the back of his neck. I noticed he does that alot when he gets nervous or stressed. "He thinks you might be a threat," he continues.

"A threat?"

"As I mentioned earlier, words spread here very fast. And people have reason to believe that you might be a spy."

I begin to laugh and almost fall over. First it was Cody who made me laugh so hard, and now Tyler. These army doctors definitely have a good sense of humor. When I look up at Tyler in between my laughter, I see that the seriousness in his face hasn't faded. I begin to cough and try to compose myself back together.

"From what angle do I look like a spy? I can barely kill an insect without having a meltdown, so how can I be a spy?"

"My commander wanted to take you in for questioning." That's when I realize how serious this was. I felt my jaw drop and chills run through my body.

"But I stopped him at the moment," Tyler continues trying to calm me down. "I told him to give you two weeks, and then I would personally bring you to him."

"So you're just going to hand me over to him," I say with sadness in my voice.

"No, no, no." Tyler scoots closer to me and grabs both my hands. "I'm going to help you fix this, and then I'll go with you to my commander." He places his forehead against mine, "I won't let you go on your own. I'll be with you every step of the way."

This was wrong I realize. I move my head back and clear my throat. Tyler's words and his presence were starting to get to me. I couldn't let him get this close to me, but there was no one else here who I could trust and there was nobody else who offered to help me.

"It must get boring here," Tyler says bringing me out of my thoughts.

Nodding my head I reply, "It does. There's nothing for me to do or even someone to talk with. But I've kind of become used to being alone in a room."

My last statement causes Tyler to frown. We continue talking for a few more minutes, before Tyler tucks me into bed and leaves my room.

It was getting close to midnight, but sleep was nowhere to be found. I stared at the clock watching time tick by when I heard a weird noise. I looked to my right and saw Tyler's walkie talkie was placed on my table. Weird shuffling noises was coming out of it. I reached over and grabbed it with my hand and brought it closer to my face observing it.

Huh, he must have left it here by accident.

"Evelyn," a voice echoed through the walkie talkie.

I dropped the walkie talkie out of fear and it landed straight to my face onto my lips. I tasted a little bit of blood instantly.

"Evelyn?" A voice echoed through again. It sounded so familiar.

Picking up the walkie talkie I brought it closer to my lips and pressed the black button on the side. "Tyler?"

"The one and only," he replied back instantaneously. I couldn't see his face but I was able to visualize him smirking when he said that.

"I think you left your walkie talkie here by accident."

"No, it wasn't an accident."

Scrunching my eyes in confusion I press the black button again, "what do you mean it wasn't an accident?"

"I left it there for you."

"Why?" I ask.

"So that whenever you get bored, you'll at least have me to talk to." The thought of that makes me smile. He was actually paying attention to what I said, and it actually seemed like he cared.

"I had an extra walkie talkie back here in my tent, so I left the one I usually carried with me in your room, and set it to the line with the walkie talkie I'm using now"

I didn't know how to express my gratitude towards him except with a single thank you.

"So what are you doing?" I ask.

"Looking at the stars. There are so many stars in the sky tonight. It's quite beautiful."

I felt a pang of jealousy. I wanted to be able to go out and stare up into the sky.

"What are you doing?" he asks.

"Oh you know, just staring at my beautiful white chipped ceiling. The view here is absolutely magnificent." I reply sarcastically.

Moments go by before I hear Tyler's voice again. "Hey Evelyn?"

"Yeah."

"What's your favorite color?"

And with that we continued on our conversation for hours until I fell asleep with a smile on my face.
