Sky and I walked around the mall for at least another hour before we found Alex. While we we're walking around looking for him he was sitting in the food court with a circle of girls around him. Of course Alex being Alex ignored the hell out of all of them. He always has ignored any girl that wasn’t sky. I can’t say the same for me though. We walked past him like 5 times before we realized that he was over there. The way we got the girls away from Alex was pretty funny.
"ALEX! So this is where you done run off to?" sky said dramatically
"What?" Alex sounded so confused.
"I’ve been sitting at home with your kid and you're here with these two dollar skanks!" she shouted aloud.
Alex finally realized what she was doing and busted out in laughter. The girls seemed to be extremely puzzled. Alex stood up and walked away from the girls toward Skylar and me. The three of us walked out the mall to our cars.
"Umm, it's cool if I ride back with sky, right?" I asked nervously to Alex.
"Yea I guess." he responded with a puzzled look.
“Alright, see you at the house.” I said before running to catch up to sky before she got to her car, a few rows down.
Sky and I got in her car and she put in her new CD, which she bought at hottopic when she was shopping, Restoring Force by Of Mice & Men. I had to admit that the album was pretty good. Normally I don’t really listen to Of Mice & Men but I was getting ready to steal Sky’s CD.
I wanted to talk to sky about the concert as well as my feelings for her. The only thing is I don’t know how to bring it up right now. Perhaps I could talk about the bands going or something. I was startled out of my thoughts when sky came to a sudden stop, causing me to jerk forward. Another car had just cut her off. I hadn’t even realized we had left the parking lot.
“So Sky are you looking forwards to seeing the bands?” I asked trying to fill the silence.
“Of course I am! Who are all the bands that are playing?”She responded
“Well there’s Asking Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon, Crown the Empire, Motionless In White, and a few other bands. I have a two day pass so I already have a hotel suit reserved and stuff.”
“So you had this whole thing planned out, huh?” she said with a little laugh.
“Well, I didn’t think that you would go with me so it’s a one bed room with a couch and a huge TV and it has like a snack bar. And if you want I can change it and make it a two bed room or I could keep that room and bring a blow up bed.”
“I like the blow up bed idea it’s cheaper plus I have a queen sized blow up bed we could bring.”
“Ok cool. Now all we have to do is tell Alex and prepare to be fussed at over how important your safety is.”
“I find it very odd that around everyone else he never talks but when he’s with us he talks all day long and sometime we can’t get him to shut up, yet he’s ‘shy’. Umm ok no”
“I know right! Everyone, as in girls, always ask me why when they talk to him he ignores them and I say that’s just how he is.”
“Yea Alex has never had a girlfriend now that I think about It.” sheaforementioned with a thoughtful look.
“Yea I guess he’s just waiting on the sky for his sun to rise. We both are.”
“Really?”
“Yea and sky I think that you are my sky.” I said nervously.
Sky took her eyes off the road, giving me a surprised look.
“What do you mean?” she questioned.
“Well, I kind of want you to be my girlfriend.” I responded sheepishly.
“Well in the situation that I just got out of a relationship I’m going to say no but give it a few weeks and ask me again later. I might change my mind. If I go off of emotions right now it might be the wrong decision because of my emotional break up my emotions are crazy right now. If I mess up I could very well ruin our friendship, and lord know I don’t want that.”
“Ok I understand. I’ll ask again later.” I said understandingly. Sky and I carried on a conversation about the concert until we arrived at her house. Alex was already there waiting on us.
“Alex, Jake is taking me to a concert!” she yelled excitedly.
Alex looked at me with an angry face, “when?” he asked.
“Friday.” I responded, “We have a two day pass so we’re driving to Grand Prairie Thursday and staying in a hotel for 3 days.”
“Really now? And you’re going to drive 18 hours just to go to a concert?” asked skeptically
“Yea pretty much.” I responded and a duh tone.
“From San Diego all the way to Grand Prairie? I can’t believe this. No
You can’t go.” he directed that strait to sky.
“You’re not my dad I can take care of myself. I’m a big girl now Alex and I don’t need you to try to protect me all the time. I understand that you want to but you can’t.” Sky said calmly
“But…” Alex began but was cut off by sky.
“Alex please, just let me have fun, please, I beg of you.” She implored
Alex sighed before responding.”Fine, fine you can go.” Sky’s face brightened up when he spoke. She ran up to him and gave him a big bear hug, which gave me a ping of jealousy, but at least she could go.
