When He Gets Home

Leo: *walks into his mansion* I'm home! *sets his briefcase down and hangs his coat on the coat rack*

Nari: *walks over to him and smiles* Hey Dumpling. *kisses his cheek*

Leo: *smiles* Hey. Where are the kids?

Nari: Kotaro is in the basement, again, and Amedea is in her room. *frowns*

Leo: *sighs* Don't worry. We'll all be at the table at dinner time, okay?

Nari: Promise?

Leo: *kisses her forehead* I promise.

Nari: *smiles* Thank you Dumpling. I love you.

Leo: *smiles* I love you too Flower. *kisses her hand*

Nari: *giggles and kisses his nose* I'll go start dinner. *walks into the kitchen*

Leo: *smiles and walks upstairs before knocking on Amedea's door* Princess? Can I come in?

Amedea: Yes!

Leo: *chuckles and opens the door*

Amedea: *runs over and hug tackles him* Hi daddy!

Leo: *smiles and picks her up* Hey Princess. *kisses her cheek* How was your day?

Amedea: It was fun! Kota made me a misic box!

Leo: Really? Can I see it?

Amedea: *smiles and nods before wiggling out of his grip and walking over to her desk*

Leo: *sits on the floor and waits for her*

Amedea: *walks over with her music box*

Amedea: *cranks it and lets it play its tune*

Leo: *smiles* That's beautiful honey. Did Kota really make that?

Amedea: *smiles and nods*

Leo: That was very sweet of him. But, now it's time for dinner so why don't you go help mommy set the table?

Amedea: Okay! *sets the box on the table and runs out of the room*

Leo: *smiles and walks downstairs and into the basement* Kota?

Kotaro: *working on something* My name's Kotaro, father. Why give me a name if you never call me it?

Leo: It's called a nickname, buddy. My name's Leonardo but you barely ever hear people call me it.

Kotaro: *scoffs and goes back to working*

Leo: *sighs* Come on Kotaro. It's dinner time.

Kotaro: Just bring it down to me.

Leo: Kotaro Hamato, you are joining your family for dinner whether you like it or not. Your mother wants us to at least be at the dinner table together.

Kotaro: Fine. I'll be there in a minute.

Leo: No Kotaro. Right now.

Kotaro: *groans and trudges upstairs*

Leo: *walks behind him and kisses Nari's cheek* Whole family together for dinner. Just like I promised.

Nari: *smiles* Thank you honey. You're the best. *kisses his nose*

Leo: *smiles and sits at the table*

Nari: *sits next to him and starts eating*

Leo: *starts eating as well*

Kotaro: *moving his food around his plate*

Amedea: *catapults some mashed potatoes into his face with her spoon*

Kotaro: *wipes it away* Stop it Amedea!

Amedea: You're not the boss of me.

Kotaro: That doesn't mean you can throw your stupid food at me!

Amedea: Yes it does!

Nari: *whispers* Oh dear.

Kotaro: You're an idiot!

Amedea: No I'm not!

Leo: Kids, stop yelling at each other.

Kotaro: Shouldn't you yell at her for once?! She's always being a brat to me no matter what I do!

Leo: Kotaro stop it. Before I send you to your room.

Kotaro: That's where I'd rather be anyway! *gets up and runs upstairs*

Leo: *looks at Amedea and Nari, sighing softly*

Amedea: *tears streaming down her cheeks* Daddy, can I go to my room?

Leo: *sighs* Of course Princess. Just put your plate in the sink first.

Amedea: *nods and runs to the kitchen before running upstairs*

Nari: *sighs* There goes another family dinner.

Leo: I know. I'm so sorry honey.

Nari: Darling it's fine. I'll just clean this up and go have a talk with Kotaro to see what's going on in that head of his. *grabs hers and Kotaro's plate before walking into the kitchen*

Leo: *sighs and stares at his plate* I can't believe this. *looks back at the kitchen, making sure Nari is still cleaning before standing up and walking up the stairs* Why is being a dad so hard sometimes? *knocks on Kotaro's door* Kota?

Kotaro: *other side of his door* I told you to stop calling me that!

Leo: *sighs and rests his hand on the door* Can I come in?

Kotaro: *mumbles* Okay.

Leo: *opens the door and sees Kotaro laying on his bed with his face buried in his pillow* Kotaro what's been going on with you? You've been acting odd the past couple of weeks. *walks over and sits on the edge of his bed*

Kotaro: *looks up from his pillow and frowns* It's just some things at school, you don't need to worry about it.

Leo: Kotaro, you're my son and I love you. Of course I'm going to worry about it. *wraps an arm around him* Now tell me what's wrong.

Kotaro: *sighs and puts his pillow down* There's this guy at my school and he-

Leo: Is he bullying you? I swear to God I'll-

Kotaro: No! He's not bullying me, he's my friend. But lately I've been having...thoughts.

Leo: *raises an eyebrow* Thoughts?

Kotaro: I-I think I might *blushes brightly and looks away from Leo* l-like him.

Leo: *eyes widen as he looks at Kotaro* Wow. I....I did not expect that.

Kotaro: I'm a freak arent I?

Leo: No Kotaro, you are definitely not a freak. It's completely normal to feel that way. You just have a crush, that's all.

Kotaro: It's not bad to like boys?

Leo: Of course not. As long as you're happy with someone you love, it will never matter who it is.

Kotaro: *smiles lightly* Thanks dad. *hugs Leo* I love you.

Leo: *surprised but hugs him back, smiling* I love you too Kotaro. Now get some sleep, it's getting late.

Kotaro: Okay. *gets under his covers*

Leo: *kisses his forehead before walking out of the room, being stopped by Nari* Oh, hey honey.

Nari: *kisses his cheek and smiles* That was some of the best parenting I've ever seen.

Leo: *chuckles*Not as good as what You do.
