Family Dinner Pt.2

-Everyone is sitting at the huge dining room table, Leo sitting at one end of the table and Klaus sitting at the other end with the rest of the family sitting on the sides-

Leo: *stands up and taps his fork against his wine flute* I would like to propose a toast to the happy couple. Everyone please stand up and raise your glasses.

-all the adults and kids stand up and raises their glasses, the kids holding up glasses of juice or soda-

Emily: *looks around and gently tugs on Wendy's dress, whispering* Aunt Wendy.

Wendy: *leans down and smiles* Yes sweetie?

Emily: What do I do? I'm too short to see.

Wendy: *giggles and helps her stand up on the chair* There you go honey.

Emily: *smiles brightly and raises her cup of juice*

Leo: *smiles* Now I remember when Wendy was just a geeky little teenager that refused to let a man near her-

-Everyone laughs-

Wendy: *blushes brightly and averts her eyes from everyone*

Oliver: *smiles and gently grabs her hand*

Wendy: *looks at him and smiles*

Leo: *continues* but now that she's engaged and is scheduled to be married to Oliver next week, I couldn't be more proud of her than I am at this moment. To Wendy and Oliver!

Everyone: To Wendy and Oliver!

-they all take a drink from their glasses before sitting back down-

Mary: *smiles at Wendy and Oliver* So, have you two thought about where to go for the honeymoon?

Oliver: Well we haven't actually talked about it together but I was thinking of going to Tokyo.

Wendy: *almost chokes on her champagne, quickly wiping her mouth and looking at Oliver* You want to go to Tokyo?

Oliver: *smiles at her* You did always want to go right?

Wendy: *smiles brightly and wraps her arms around his neck, pulling him into a deep kiss*

Mary and Clover: Aaaaaw!

-a rock crashes through the dining room window, landing right next to Leo's chair-

Leo: *picks up the rock and examines it before looking out the window, a growl escaping him* God damnit not now. *stands up and starts for the front door*

Nari: Honey who is it?

Rebel: *looks out the window and groans before standing up* Shade fucking Dagenheart. *stands up and follows Leo*

Wendy: Oh no, not today. *stands up and follows them*

Oliver: Wendy wait. *follows her*

-the rest of the family walks outside and gather around the porch to watch-

Wendy: Shade get out of here, you're drunk.

Shade: *his voice slurred* Wendy! Get your s-sorry ass over here!

Wendy: No Shade. Go home.

Leo: You don't want any trouble Shade, trust me.

Shade: Wh....wha the fuck are you d-doing with this p-pussy? He does....doesn't know how to treat a w....w..woman like you.

Oliver: He better not be talking about me.

Wendy: *puts her arm in front of him so he doesn't kill Shade* Honey stop.

Shade: *pulls out a revolver and tries to aim it at Wendy, not able to keep his arm straight* G-get over here or I sh...sh-shoot.

Leo: Clover take the kids inside, this is grownup stuff.

Clover: *nods and pushes the kids inside, closing the door behind them*

Wendy: Shade just go home. I'm not going with you.

Shade: *growls deeply,finally getting a straight aim before beginning to squeeze the trigger*

-a gun is suddenly shot, causing Shade to collapse to the ground-

Klaus: *blows the smoke out of his revolver before putting it away* Now that that's over with, shall we continue with dinner?

Ghost: *pats Klaus' shoulder* I like this family. *walks back inside*

-Everyone except Wendy, Oliver, and Leo go inside-

Leo: *sighs* I'll call some guards to dispose of him.

Wendy: *glares at Leo and slaps his arm*

Leo: *winces* I mean get him to the hospital.

Wendy: Thank you. *walks back inside*

Oliver: Does...*looks at Shade*..does stuff like this always happen?

Leo: *starts texting on his phone* Not always. This is only the fifth time he's done this since she broke up with him three years ago.

Oliver: Jeez. You think he would move on.

Leo: Yeah but he hasn't. *looks at Oliver* Are you having seconds thoughts about my sister?

Oliver: Of course not sir.

Leo: Good. *puts his phone away* And call me Leo. You're family now. *pats his shoulder and walks into the house*

Oliver: *heaves a sigh before looking through the dining room window, smiling as everyone goes back to eating dinner*

-Asana and Artemis are chatting Wendy's ears off with talk of the wedding and babies. No matter how uncomfortable she looked, Wendy kept a bright smile and continued the conversation-

Oliver: *chuckles and walks inside, sitting next to Wendy*

Wendy: *looks at him, gently grabbing his hand* What took you so long out there?

Oliver: *smiles at her* I just wanted a little more fresh air before coming inside.

Wendy: *worried* That whole thing didn't scare you off, did it?

Oliver: Of course not. Nothing will scare me off. *kisses her cheek*

Wendy: *smiles and starts eating her dinner*

Oliver: *looks around the table and smiles brightly, thinking to himself* I love this family.
