Wendy: *looking around in the house library* I can't believe Oliver wouldn't tell his grandma that he got married. He talks to her more than he does his family at home. *takes a book off the shelf and looks at the cover* 'Thorns Of A Rose'? I've never heard of this one.

-An old woman walks up behind Wendy, smiling at her-

???: That's because I never properly published it.

Wendy: *yelps and turns around, looking at the woman* O-oh. You wrote this?

???: *gently takes the book* Indeed I did. *looks at Wendy* You must be Wendy. I'm Gertrude, Klaus' mother. *reaches her hand out for Wendy to shake*

Wendy: *takes it and shakes her hand lightly* It's nice to meet you ma'am. Um...how did you know my name?

Gertrude: Asana told me about you. *looks down at Wendy's big stomach and smiles* And I guess this ie my great-grandbaby you're carrying?

Wendy: *smiles and holds her stomach* Yes it is.

Gertrude: Well it's glad to finally meet you, I'm surprised my sweet oldest grandson didn't tell me about you sooner.

Wendy: *frowns as she looks at her stomach* Me too.

Gertrude: *raises an eyebrow* What's wrong, dear?

Wendy: *puts on a fake smile* It's fine Mrs. Goldstein. It's nothing serious. *walks over and sits down on a chait*

Gertrude: *follows her and sits in a chair across from Wendy* Now I know that isn't true. Something is bothering you.

Wendy: *laughs lightly* Am I really that easy to read?

Gertrude: Easy? No. Complicated? Very much. But now I see exactly why Oliver loves you.

Wendy: *gently runs her hand over her stomach* But do you have any idea why he wouldn't tell you he got married?

Gertrude: Well I do have a pretty good idea. *taps her fingers on the arm of her chair*

Wendy: *raises an eyebrow* Why?

Gertrude: First and foremost, did he ever tell about the few years he lived with me?

Wendy: He did not. He never really spoke about anything like that.

Gertrude: *sighs* Well, when he lived with me I was very...strict. I didn't allow him to have friends and I never believed it was alright for him to be dating before he was eighteen. I guess it's a possibility that he thinks him being in a relationship is horrible in my eyes.

Wendy: Wow. A surprising amount of things make complete sense now.

Gertrude: I'm sorry dear. I hope you're not upset with Oliver when I'm to blame.

Wendy: Everything's fine Mrs. Goldstein. I just need to talk to Oliver right now. *stands up and smiles at Gertrude* Excuse me. *walks out of the room*

Gertrude: *sighs and opens up her book* I forgot how problematic marriage was.

Klaus: *walks into the room* That's because father has been dead for years.

Gertrude: *jumps in her seat, glaring at Klaus* Klaus how many times do I have to scold you for scaring me?

Klaus: A lot, since I still haven't learned my lesson from when I was a kid. *kisses Gertryde's cheek* How are you mom? *sits down in a chair*

Gertrude: I'm fine, dear. But if I were you I would be more concerned about Oliver and Wendy, they seem to have gotten into a controversy.

Klaus: *sighs and massages his temple*  What marriage doesn't have controversies?

Gertrude: Yours is a good example of having none. I don't think I've ever seen you and Asana angry with each other.

Klaus: Because I usually just give her what she wants. It's easier that way.

Gertrude: *laughs lightly* Someone has learned their lesson from their father.

Klaus: Yes your yelling has made me learn a lesson. I've only seen Asana angry once and thank God it wasn't with me. She's terrifying.

Gertrude: *flips to the next page in her book, smiling* A true Goldstein woman; calm like water until a wave begins. *looks out the window to the garden*

-Aria is on top of Daniel after she tackled him, Asana is sitting on a bench reading, Artemis is picking flowers, and Wendy and Oliver are talking and cuddling on a different bench-

Gertrude: Your daughters seem to be following in the right footsteps to be true Goldstein women. But, Wendy is going to need to work on her attributes to the character.

Klaus: Yes, she will. She's on her way though.

Gertrude: Well do tell me about the progress of that brand new Goldstein coming along. I would love to have pictures sent in the mail.

Klaus: *nods and stands up* Of course mother. I'll be sure to keep you up to date as much as I can. *kisses Gertrude's cheek before walking out of the library*

~later at dinnertime~

-Everyone is sitting at the dinner table and enjoying their meal-

Gertrude: *looks up from her food at Oliver* So Oliver dear, why didn't you tell me about your marriage? You seem very much in love.

Oliver: *chokes lightly on his food, wiping his mouth with his napkin* I-I don't know I just forgot. Why is this such a big deal for everyone? I-

Wendy: *gently grabs his hand*

Oliver: *looks at her*

Wendy: *smiles and rests her head on his shoulder while looking at Gertrude* It doesn't matter that he didn't tell you. You know now and everything's fine. *looks back at Oliver* Right honey?

Oliver: *smiles and kisses her cheek* Yeah, everything's perfect.

Asana: *smiles and whispers* Well that problem practically solved itself.

Klaus: *kisses Asana's cheek* As most Goldstein problems do.

Gertrude: *smiles brightly at Wendy* Welcome to the family Wendy.
