Chapter Two

Natsu didn't understand why this human was helping him. He was a dragon, she was a human, and the two were supposed to be mortal enemies and yet she seemingly cared about his wellbeing. Whenever Igneel told Natsu about humans, it was always about their greed, their bloodlust, and their lack of remorse. Yet she was so firm about making the swordsman lower his blade that it surprised him, not only that, but she tore a giant friggen arrow out of his leg! No, Natsu, don't trust her, He scolded himself. Just because she saved you doesn't mean she cares. Just you wait, the moment these two humans take you into custody and heal you, they would demand something of you and use their "helping nature" as a bargaining chip. These damned humans are all the same. Well, there was nothing he could do about it now. He was losing a lot of blood and his vision was already swimming. Jellal was driving the carriage through the gates while the princess and some strange smelling man sat in the vehicle with him. Well, even if he didn't have his leg skewered by a giant arrow he would still be a sorry heap on the floor because of his one true weakness: Damn motion sickness.

Natsu hadn't realized he had drifted to sleep until he found himself blinking awake in some weird white room with strange blue clothes covering his body and a weird white blanket draped over his body. He slowly forced himself into a sitting position and grumbled in pain when his leg refused to move. He tore off the sheets and instinctively sniffed his injured leg, and surprisingly enough, it was healing nicely, though it reeked of unfamiliar chemicals. What had the humans done to me? He looked around the room with more attention this time: he was on a strange white bed with a rolling chair besides him and a counter across the room filled with various strange medical sets with odd labels on them. Cabinets were installed on the space above and some of the doors were carefully labeled. He saw a large steel door in the corner of the room and to his right he saw a horizontal slender window that was too sleek for his body to move through. There was some sorts of commotion going on outside so he decided that a little eavesdropping wouldn't hurt:

"Lucy, I'm telling you this isn't a good idea," a man's voice said and Natsu easily recognized it as Jellal.

"I told you this before and I'm going to say it again: Natsu needs help and I don't care what he is," the girl from earlier, Lucy if he recalled correctly, said. This particular human interested him.

A small unfamiliar woman's voice spoke up. "Lu-chan, I understand that you want to help him, but you have to remember to be careful around him, for all we know he could try and destroy the kingdom, or worse--"

"Levy, I know what I'm doing."

"Juvia doesn't disagree with Lucy, but she feels that Lucy should have exercised caution a bit more first before welcoming a stranger into the castle," another girl (who was obviously named Juvia) said.

"Okay, you know what? If him being here bothers you soo much, then I'll just dump him in the forest for the wolves to get. Does that make you feel more at ease?"

    "N-no! Lu-chan, we didn't mean--"

"Of course not, this is Igneel's son, remember?" Jellal snapped. "If he hears that we had abandoned or killed his kid, he would wipe Fiore as we know it off the face of the earth!"

"Juvia is still confused about who Natsu-kun was looking for. He said he was looking for some dragon who took his brother, right? Did he say who?"

    "No," Lucy sighed.

"Maybe.... do you think be could become a potential ally? He could help us."

"With what? Our wizards handle everything perfectly, and as far as we know, dragons couldn't use magic," Levy said.

"Actually, Natsu used magic to turn into a human. Lucy and I saw it ourselves."
