"What! You're going to be sent out to where!" Mrs. Lester shouted, looking afraid and worried towards her son. "Mom, it's okay. I volunteered to go." Phil told her calmly, only to get her to freak out more. "You did what." She asked sternly. "I volunteered to go. It's okay. Someone at my facility would have to go anyway, so I decided to step in." Phil replied. "This is why I told you not to work there." She mumbled under her breath. "It's fine. Im heading out there tomorrow." Phil said, walking up the stairs to his room. "Tomorrow!" Mrs. Lester exclaimed as she followed her son up the steps. "Stop worrying. Ill be back before you know it." He soothed, leaning over the side of his bed to grab a bag, beginning to put things in it. Sighing, Mrs. Lester said, "alright sweetie, if you say so. How long will you be gone?" "A month." He answered, putting some water bottles into his bags. "A month?!" Mrs. Lester squawked, looking harshly at Phil as he packed. "Yes. Now, don't worry about me. Like i said, ill be back before you know it. Ill be safe." Phil reassured, grabbing another thing to put into his bag. Mrs. Lester smiled, wiping away a tear that had fallen down her cheek. "You've always been my strong boy. Im happy you get this opportunity." She told lovingly, making him smile happily up to her. "Thank you." He said softly with another dashing smile. "What about your anxiety and panic attacks? Will those be an issue?" She asked, crinkling her brows together as she remembered. "Probably, but it's fine. I mean, I've learned to calm myself down, after all." He answered, putting a knife into his bag, as well as a rope. "Will you really need those?" She asked with a sigh, pointing towards the knife and rope. "Probably. You never know what you could find out in that jungle, besides that boy." He answered as he carefully put another thing into his bag, then stood up. "It's getting late, and I need to be fully prepared and ready for tomorrow. So, night mom, love you." Phil told her, hugging her lightly. "Love you too, my little lion. My little, my strong, lion." She mumbled as she held him in her arms. Phil smiled at this, hugging her slightly tighter then before. Letting go, Mrs. Lester kissed his forehead, then left the room. Phil went over to the door, switching off the light, then going back over to his bed. He tugged the comforter up his body and sighed. "What have i got myself into?" He asked himself right before he fell into a deep slumber.

The next morning, Phil woke up with a start. He swiftly got out of bed, put on some nice clothing, grabbing the book bag full of things for this adventure, and left his room, heading downstairs to put his shoes on and eat a good breakfast. "Morning, honey!" Mrs. Lester called to him, Phil smiled as he head into the kitchen. "Here's your breakfast, eat up quick, you need to leave soon." She said, handing him a plate of eggs and bacon in the shape of a smiley face. Smiling at the food, he quickly ate, then put the dish into the sink. "Bye mom, love you!" He called to her, swiftly opening the door and leaving, but not before hearing his mom call 'i love you!' back.
