Up on the roof, I ran around in short bursts of speed.
Stamping my foot,
hitting against surfaces,
anything to try and escape what I was feeling.
Then the tears came,God I hated the tears.
This was the second time I was crying in a span of less than 24 hours.
I had never felt this helpless in my life, so frustrated.
I sniffed like a little child and hated myself for it.
I was a big girl,
in a messed up situation.I should be trying to figure out how to get out of it,
and the best I could do right now was cry.
I slapped my face severally and squeezed my eyes shut bidding the tears to stop, but of course, it was to no avail.
I held the sides of my head with the heels of my palms, and shouted out loud,
"Seriously Eva, is this the best you can do?? "I dragged myself to the edge of the roof, and looked down to the ground.
Patients, doctors, nurses and visitors walked and wheeled around,
I stared for some minutes, looking but not seeing.
My vision became blurred, images began swimming in front of my eyes,
I caught myself and realized I should be completely sober, near the edge of the roof,
This was no place to get emotional, or something really bad could happen.
I looked at the goings on on the ground,
and spotted a figure in a navy dust coat,
coming out of the hospital cafeteria holding a white package.Only one person in the hospital wore a blue coat,
Javani.The pathologist,
And that gave me an idea.
Just in case things became really bad.
Just then my pager beeped in my pocket, I checked and it was from Ward 10,
Joshua calling me for lunch.
For the first time since yesterday I smiled .
