"Minji?!"
"Yeah its me." Her voice crackled over the undoubtedly rusty line of a payphone. Even though I could hear her voice, it sounded much weaker. It seemed like wherever she was now, she hadn't eaten in a couple days.
"What happened? Where are you? Are you okay? Do we need to come get you? Are you --"
"Whoa, slow down there, partner." She laughed. It sounded dry and hoarse.
"How can you laugh in a situation like this?" I scolded, but I was also glad. She hadn't completely lost herself and kept her optimism.
"How can you not? It isn't everyday that you are kidnapped in the middle of the night. I'm just thankful that the people that captured me hadn't done anything worse." replied she, and I could hear the fading of a dying connection.
"Just wanted to tell you that I'm okay. My time is almost up, so I'll see you soon, okay?" Click.
Sighing, I put the phone back just as Hyuk came into the kitchen, toweling his wet hair. "Who was on the phone?"
"Some telemarketer." I lied, flipping through the pages of a random fashion magazine on the counter to avoid looking at him.
"Where are the rest of the guys?" I asked him, quickly changing the subject. Shaking his head to dry his hair, he tossed the towel into the basket before turning to me. "They're still sleeping."
"Meow~" I looked down to see Stormie batting at my loose pajama pants, and I picked her up. She immediately snuggled against my chest and started to fall asleep.
"Stormie likes you a lot, I guess. She really dislikes N-hyung, though." Hyuk remarked, seeing the two of us cuddle.
"Who actually likes it when Ajhumma nags?" Hyuk snorted in reply as he looked at me. "It isn't like you're any better, though." My jaw dropped as I smacked his arm. He guffawed in amusement, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"You better take that back."
"And if I don't?"
"I know you're allergic to cats!" I sang, walking up to Hyuk with the kitten in my arms. He ran off, scared to get an allergic reaction and shut the door.
"I'm sure he would really love to hold you, Stormie. His body doesn't really like to, though" I said to the cat, who just looked at me and blinked her eyes sleepily. I put her down and she immediately sprawled on the floor and went to sleep.
"Sheesh, you just slept!!" I huffed, leaving Stormie to catch yet another cat nap and jumped onto the couch. I curled up into a fetal position to gather some heat and wrapped a blanket around myself. Just when I was about to fall asleep, there was a knock on the door.
"Who could that be..." I muttered and turned away from the door. Then the knock sounded, this time a little stronger and I had no choice but to open it. "Aish!" I cursed, stepping out of the living room and peeking through the hole.
It was the manager.
I opened the door and smiled. "Hey, manager-oppa. What can I do for you?" His lips turned up into a small smile before turning into his normal flat line. He isn't much of a smiler...
"Hey, Gina. I was hoping the boys were up already. They have a meeting with Seo Joon in a couple hours."
"Oh, I'll get them up right away. Thanks." I replied, closing the door as soon as he walked away. That guy was acting weird. Does he hate me or something?
"Ugh, I hate waking up these kids, aish!" I muttered to myself, kicking away the blanket and knocking on the door to N's room. "N? Are you up?" Hearing the shuffling of feet and the doorknob turning, I came face-to-face with N's pissed sleepy-face.
