[Josh's p.o.v]

Age: 15

Me and my mother ended up moving again, not happy with the situation we were in. We moved to a place in which had good reviews. My mother called it 'Someplace where I would be happy and make new friends.'

The thing was.. I didn't want new friends.. I wanted Tyler.

I sighed unhappily as I got situated in my room, organizing of what went where. I have to start a new school tomorrow.

I decided to change myself up a bit, figuring maybe it would help me forget.

I didn't want to forget

I didn't want to forget Tyler..

I didn't want to forget our friendship.

But I have to.

He is gone now...

Later on I asked if my mother could run me to the store, her accepting and thinking that I should change myself up a bit.

As we got to the store, she dropped me off at the front and I hopped out. She told me she would be parked somewhere and to find her car afterwards. I walked into the store, immediately walking to the hair dye section. I looked at all the endless colors, searching for the right one.

I picked up the box of vibrant purple, looking a close look at it.

Shaking my head, I put it back and grabbed a light pink color, looking at its cotton candy looking color. I decided on this one, walking away with the box and looking for hair bleach. I grabbed a box of that and walked over to the check out lines. Waiting patiently, I tapped my foot in a pattern, until the line had gone up and I put my item on the conveyor belt.

"Is that all for you today?" A woman with orange-ish red hair and a beautiful smile caught Josh's attention.

"Yeah.. That's everything."

"Your total is $12.08"

I handed her $13.

"Keep the change," I smiled

"Thank you.. Have a great day!" She waved, obviously giving the hint to me that she likes me.

I smiled to myself as I left, carrying the plastic bag.

My mother pulled up to the front of the store to pick me up.

"Hey.. Can we go to a body piercing place?" I asked as I got on the car.

"Excuse me?" Laura said, wide eyed.

"I... Uhm.. Want to get a nose piercing," I thought out loud.

"Are you sure? Did you think about?" My mother asked.

"Yeah.. I've been thinking about it for two years mother.." I sighed

She just nodded lightly, probably not feeling good about this decision as I was only 15.

At least I wasn't asking for a tattoo.

My mother began to drive off to the body piercing place. I was getting nervous since I have low pain tolerance.

She finally parked the car. I had not realized we were actually parked until my mother notified me. I seemingly dazed off.

"C'mon Joshua" My mother sighed.

"Uh-..Oh!" I snapped out of whatever daze I was in and opened the car door, closing it behind me.

I watched my mom fiddle with the keys before holding down a button and a few seconds later the car beeping a few times to signalize that the car is locked.

I took a deep breath, opening the weak looking door, walking into a small shop with posters and pictures of different tattoos on the walls. There was a guy with tattoos up his arms, around his neck and chest, and down to his fingers. He had multiple piercings throughout his face. Nose ring, septum, gauges, and eyebrow piercings.

"How can I help you?" His deep voice cracked out through the shop.

"U-uhm, Im looking to get a nose piercing?" It came out more of a question

"Yes. What kind? Stud? Nose Ring? Septum?"

"Nose ring," I breathed out

The tall man nodded, walking over to a desk to gather the things he needed. He held up a nose ring to me.

" Is this okay?"

"Yeah," I nodded slightly, picking at a loose string on my skinny jeans.

The man sat down on a chair and scooted over, setting the things down on the small table beside him.

He took a small marker pen thing and marked a dot on my nose as he studied the right placing. I winced as he grabbed the needle and put it close to my nose.

"Nervous?"

"Yeah, I have a low pain tolerance," I took deep breaths.

He nodded, "I'll ask you some questions alright?"

"Mhm.."

"What is your name?"

"Joshua or Josh"

"Okay, Josh.. tell me a little bit about yourself."

I nodded as I got nervous as the needle thing nearer my face. I closed my eyes and started to talk.

"I'm 15 and I just moved here. I'm starting my new school tomorrow and I only live with my m-!" I squealed as I felt the needle shoot through my nose, my face beginning to ache.

"Ow, ow.." I murmured

"Okay Okay, I just have to put the ring in."

"All done."

"Huh?"

"The ring  is in. Wanna go look?"

I nodded and got up. I didn't feel much of the ring being put in. My eyes still stung with tears as the pain took over. The tall man walked me over to a mirror and I looked at the silver ring in the side of my nose.

"Wow.. I really like it. Worth the pain" I laughed.

"I like it too, it suits you," He smiled.

"I love it, thank you,"

"Very welcome"

We walked up to the front desk and my mom insisted on paying.

She studied the ring in her son's nose and smiled.

"I actually really like that Josh," She commented.

"I do too," I smiled.

" It looks cute when you smile" she cooed.

"Mom..." I groaned.

The tall man laughed behind the counter and took the money my mother set on the desk. He gave her her change back and wished us a happy and good day.

I really liked my appearance. I liked looking different.

I didn't believe in being normal. I always liked looking different.

I smiled to myself and thought;

I really like This, If only Tyler saw.
