Recap:

It wasn't until I was about to reach the elementary school that I saw the blue lights flashing in my rearview mirror.

I pulled off to the side of the road and hit my head against the steering wheel. Long story short, I got a ticket for speeding and I was also late picking up Gavin.

I have a feeling that my mom isn't going to be very happy when I get home. All I have to say is can this day get any worse?

I pulled into my driveway and looked at the clock on my dashboard and it read 4:36 p.m. ‘Well I am royally screwed’ I thought to myself.

Seeing that I am almost an hour late being home and I got a speeding ticket, I have a feeling that my mom is going to be pretty mad at me. Also seeing that I am already in a lot of trouble as it is, this will not be pretty.

“Come on buddy let's go inside.” I said to Gavin as I got him out of the car.

We walked up to the door and went inside. When I pushed open the front door and walked in  my eyes met the angry eyes of my mother. I gulped nervously and shut the door behind me.

I looked down at Gavin, “Hey buddy why don't you go upstairs to your room and watch some cartoons while mommy and me talk for a few minutes.

“Ok. Can I watch my Batman movie?” He asked with pleading eyes. I smiled and nodded my head yes. I watched as he ran up the stairs before turning back to my mom.

“Hey mom…” I said nervously.

She shook her head and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Ok I am going to be calm with this. Taylor, why exactly are you almost an hour late?” My mother asked me in a strained calm voice.

I shuffled my feet nervously and spoke up, “Well, its a funny story actually. You see I was talking with..this guy..when I realized I was late so I hurried to Gavin’s school when I kinda got pulled over and got a speeding ticket..” I said trailing off while letting out a nervous laugh.

“You got a what!?”

I jumped at the sudden loudness of my mother voice. I pulled out the ticket that I had crammed in my pocket and handed it over to my mom.

After looking at the ticket for a minute she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths before she opened her eyes and spoke again.

“What is your deal Taylor? First you sneak out and go to a party, you left some stranger with your brother and Calli, you get home almost an hour late, and then you get a speeding ticket? What is going on because this is not normal for you Taylor?”

I sighed and shuffled my feet. I shrugged because I honestly did not have a reasonable  answer to my moms question.

“I don't understand why you are keeping things from me Taylor or what I am going to do with you. Just go to your room and don't come out until tomorrow.” My mother told me.

My mouth dropped open, “What the heck! How am I supposed to eat!?” Oh course food is the only thing I am really worried about.

“I will bring you your dinner. Now go Taylor.”

I let out a frustrated breath and stomped up the stairs to my room and slammed my door. Ok sure that might have been a little immature, but she was treating me like I was six or something!

I threw myself on my bed and stared up at the ceiling. The worst part was my laptop was downstairs so I didn't have that. So I got my headphones out and plugged them into my phone and blasted my music and just layed there for who knows how long.
