"Did you not get any of my calls or text ash? I've been trying to tear her you for the last two days, and yet I still hear nothing from you. Do you know how worried-"
Your words came to a stop once you saw her face. Tears were falling freely from her eyes and her knees were pulled tightly to her chest. She rocked back and forth slowly not even bothering to wipe away the snot that now stained her sweatpants.
"Baby..?" Your voice was now a whisper as you approached her figure on the couch. You've never seen Ashley like this before, even when she was really upset she hid it well. You had no idea what words to use in this situation.
She turned to look at you, her eyes looked empty and dull as ever. Her mouth opened but nothing came out. Her tears fell onto her cheeks once again.
You rushed over to her side and held her head onto your shoulders. Her body shook slightly as she gripped onto your waist in desperation. "S-she's g-g-gone...my m-mom is-" the rest of her sentence was left unsaid as she broke down again into your warm arms.
Your heart sank once those words came out of her mouth. She's been here all by herself in pain...and you didn't even bother to assume she needed help. Instead you though she was ignoring you or just didn't want to have to answer to anything you had to say. You were so wrong.
"Shhh...ash baby..." he head rested on your neck and her grip only tightened around you. "I'm so sorry ash..." she didn't respond but you knew she was hurting.
The only thing you could do was hold her and show her as much live as you could. You had to make it better...somehow.
