You smiled at yourself in the mirror, smoothing out your dress. It was your special day. The day you would be marrying the love of your life.... or so you thought.
You were so overwhelmed with emotions at this point. Part of you wondered what the hell you were doing while another part of you couldn't wanted to get this over with.
It was supposed to be Ashley... you thought to yourself. "Why am I even doing this?" This is basically how you've been feeling all day. One minute you were calm and relax then the next you were freaking out. Mostly because you still had feelings for your ex girlfriend. Ashley.
Your thoughts were interrupted when you heard a knock on the dressing room door. You figured it was your mother or something coming by to check up on you.
"Come in!" You yelled not giving it much thought.
The door slowly opened, revealing a familiar face. You were shocked.
"Hey pretty girl..." she said softly. It was Ashley.
You turned around and grinned widely before running up to her, jumping into her arms. You were more than happy to see her.
The two of you stayed in that position for what seemed like hours before you finally pulled away.
"I can't believe you came. I-I didn't think you were going to get my invitation..." you said still surprised.
She looked down at the floor smirking slightly. "Yeah...I'm actually supposed to be at a shoot right now, but I wanted to come down and surprise you..."
"Well I'm definitely surprised." You said while laughing, enjoying her company. You missed her...
The room was silent for a few seconds before she spoke again.
"Y/n....where did I go wrong?" She asked suddenly. It took you a few minutes before you could answer even though you knew exactly what to say. You never really did tell her why you wanted to end it. It just happened.
"You went wrong when you put work in front of me and when you said you didn't want commitment. But now I'm with someone who makes me incredibly happy."
She sighed while nodding her head at you and looking down at your dress. Hopefully she understood where you were coming from.
"I didn't come here to change your mind if that's what your thinking. I came to tell you that I hope she gives you everything that I never could give you. And that I'm sorry for everything I put you through..."
You didn't say anything in response. You only wished she told you this earlier...and maybe you would've changed your mind but it was way too late now. You could only give get a reassuring smile and a hug. Thanking her for making an effort.
You watched as she walked out of the door, leaving for good this time. You could be making a huge mistake right now. You could be letting the one person who ever truly cared about you slip away....
The worse part was, there wasn't a damn thing you could do about it.
